Becca.. my family say the same too!! They do stop after a couple of weeks.. or when you ask them to lend a handif they don't like the mess!
I am having to admire bogies at the moment.. I love being a mother!
Well.. these tesco crates.. I emptied them.. onto the floor... filled ahlf a binbag for charity shop, threw the rest in the wash basket.. I work through it one item at a time that way and it is less daunting.. some went in the ebay pile.. will photograph those later.. and I threw the empty crates outside before I filled them with more gibble!
My back room looks like the aftermath of a jumble sale but that is the weekend job!! .. Backroom and make a start on the 'playroom' once the playroom has a little floor (crap I just remembered there are 5 binbags of 'stuff' in there I need to weed too.. *groan*) anyway.. once there is room we will shift some of the stuff out of our bedroom and decorate in there.. including the laying of laminate flooring.. if it means less vacuuming I'm all for it!
I even have long term plans now look!!
ETA.. woohoo!!! My new loo is being delivered on Wednesday.. it is being fitted on the 15th.. yeah.. 2 loos to clean!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Great going Pigpen!
You've got brave plans!
My floors downstairs are all lino (is that how you spell that, English is my second language so forgive mistakes please) so a hoover and a mop around makes the world of difference. Especially with kids as there is always something flying!..
My 2 year old is now watching DORA the Explorer, which gives my floor half an hour to dry as she will NOT move during it. (Locked onto the tv she is!)
My 16 yrs old son told me this morning as he came out of his room and saw me making my bed: 'mum.. I'm starting to worry about you, you know!"
I guess that says enough for my cleaning history!
For the past three days he's watched me with a growing awe. Het MUST be wondering what jumped up and bit me!
Right, enough sitting down again for now.. I find myself itching!

Happy flying everyone xx0 -

Beccatje wrote:My main problem with the house thing was this: I'd go mad cleaning up for a few days.. yell at the kids.. and drive myself around the bend.
Then my house would be clean and tidy. And I'd feel good, but I'd be the only one!.. I swear, when my house is clean NOBODY comes round!
Then swiftly the clutter and junk would take over again, and as murphy's law predicts, in the hight of messy mess.. an unexpected visitor would arrive.
I'd be ashamed.. trying to shove crap off of the couch to make space for my visitor to sit, and hope they don't follow me into the kitchen chatting while I make a cuppa.
(You know this one don't you sis!!)
And I'd be so embarrassed and ashamed that I'd go back to yelling at my family to clean up like idiots and we'd start over again.
When kids ask me: did you fill in that form I need for school, I'd panick. What note? WHERE did it go????
i'm sick of it. i want to be organised. I want to be on top of things. I want to not have a heart attack when the doorbell rings.
Becca
We must be twins!!!!!! That is just how I feel as well lol
Got my 7yr old DD to buy into this and each morning before school she now askes what jobs I have for the day and when she comes out of school she askes what I have done!
As she walked in yesterday she said 'wow mum you've done well', :rotfl: the hall was my hotspot to clear! :T
Not done a lot of flying this morning, been to take flowers to DH and tidy him up, packed ebay parcels (site was playing up earlier  ), collected DS from nursery and now having lunch before swimming.
Will try and clear the rest of stairs and landing before 3pm when I pick DD up or will be in trouble with her!Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
hello everyone :hello:
what a day! kids got me up at 530am (again!) - and i actually fell asleep on the sofa an hour later  (never happened!!)
i am doing things when i think of them today. can't do any more
managed to un/reload d/w - folded 2 mashine washings - mopped dining/playroomfloor twice (!!) (once ds spilled the contents of a full potty with nr1 AND nr2  - everywhere!!! and of course treat into it and spread it even further  - second time it was 'only' a nr.1)
and we just came back from a major bear hunt
ds left his bear (very major important lovely soothing bear!!) at nursery yesterday so i told him we'll get it today! off we went, fetched the bear and left to do one last errand and back home. yeah right  - half way back ds asked me where his bear was [aaaaaaaaaaaah] - so we went back all the way looking everywhere - nope! - then i had a crying boy - and we did the round again!!! - in the bookshop i spotted it sitting on the counter- i swear i was in tears
i am shattered now :rotfl:I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -
Not even done a list of job yet, but I have done the routine dailies. We have got viewers tomorrow and as I am at work over the weekend I need to make sure every room looks good. Do you think tying the girls to chairs would be seen as cruelty?? Surely them destroying all my cleaning and tidying is cruelty to me.
Thank goodness I joined this thread, all I have to do is a quick dust in every room and a flick round with the hoover (that can be DH job tomorrow!).
Off to put BM on and make girls lunch. Been busy morning at toddler group, not really sure why I do it, its not like we get paid. Having said that todays session was really good and feel really pleased we pulled it off with 2 of the committee missing!
Now I need coffee0 -
My god everyones flying away and I've barely taken of this morning! Hope the viewing goes well Shell. Pigpen and Becca I am impressed.
Right desk was clear, but I've decided to sort 'kids paperwork' out of the filing cabinet as the cabinet is going to give way! Done bathroom, hall floors done, cleared a hotspot (don't know how within a week a sofa turned into one, everyone threw everything on it) got few more dailies to do and this lot
[strike]3 loads washing, [/strike]drying and putting away (DS2 wet bed again)
[strike]Remake DS2 bed
Sort one of the kitchen cupboards (contents fell on me this morning so needs doing)
Pack some eBay items ready to post
Sort through kids paperwork and put into files for each child, achievements etc and medical/official to be kept seperate.
Dailies that are left (S&S kitchen, floors, meals, dogs) [/strike]
Read through Open Uni stuff that has arrived
Find receipt for laptop I got my Dad for Xmas, it's in this house somewhere!

lil_me.. my 6 year old was put back in nappies last summer when I got completely sick of wet beds.. now she can pee to her hearts content, I don't care any more! She ruined 3 duvets having to constantly wash them.. numerous pillows and at least 3 ,mattresses, despite having a 'waterproof' cover on them.. the waterproofness dissolved as it was constantly wet! .. 3-4 times a night she would wee, sometimes her bed (both ends), her sisters bed (both ends).. and still wee on the toilet floor when she woke up!
I have added to my list.. need to speak to DS2's teacher.. it would appear some little shhiii... cherub... in his class had him pinned against a wall yesterday evening, he didn't tell me, but thankfully one of the other parents saw it and told the deputy head. (he is 11 but SEN) I want to know it has been sorted and the scab in question has been [STRIKE]decapitated[/STRIKE].. sorry reprimanded..
Phone calls now, while my lunch settles.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Yes Pigpen, can understand why you are annoyed, both my boys are SEN aswell, hope you get the 'issues' sorted. My son was in pj pants (nappies too small and come off or we could get them free! costs me a fortune) but he keeps taking them off during the night aswell. Drives me 'potty'. He has no drinks late on, but he also has incontinence issues during the day aswell, this is however getting better. Thankfully we get these great sheets for under him off the special needs health visitor, but he manages to wriggle them off aswell as they are smaller than the bed and just lie over the top of bedding. They do of course have to be washed when they are wet on so still increases the laundry. I must remember to call and see if we can get some more this year as one has dropped to bits with being cleaned so often. He's 6 tomorrow and I was hoping to get him dry at night before then, doesn't look like it. Mattresses he had 3 last year, not cheap either! I do vax them when possible, that vax has sure earned it's keep just doing those, but eventually they just smell. I've resorted to the pad, mothercare waterproof pad (which isn't very good but helps), sheet then waterproof sheet under that just to try to save the mattresses.
RANT OVER
Right, now have to ring round community centres for DP, and look for batteries on ebay not as if I don't have enough to do.One day I might be more organised...........
