That is it.. I'm going to cry.

I brought the wash basket fown from the bathroom, washed everything in it and transferred the spare bits to the downstairs basket.. DS1 took it upstairs, filled it and brought it back down!!! I may have to kill him slowly. I have wash loads 5 & 6 in at the moment and folded clean dry stuff on the table waiting until dinner time when I will make the children put it all away so they can eat.

So far we have 2 binbags from DD1's tiny room and 2 binbags of rubbish from the girls room. Not to mention the 7 loads of washing I have found from their rooms.. and Dh's weeks washing which is on my bedroom floor which he can bring down next time he is heading this way.

DS1 has been told he is not going out until ALL his clothinges are away or off the floor.

Sounds like the kids in everyones house are getting bottoms kicked, mine too, just about to make PECS cards to put on DS1s drawers then he also has no excuses, will make him a list of PECS of which clothes to get out the night before, one list for school and one for when they are at home, and he can follow that. Same thing for DS2. DS2 helping look for suitable images as we speak (because camera batteries are flat and I can't find any more)

Going to do the same for toy boxes next week, named labels isn't working the writing is too small and not appealing enough so going to do PECS images for each box. Then will make a one for each shelf in the place where the box has to be put. I will get these kids more organised :D

Hall & stairs vacuumed. Downstairs hall, kitchen and living room vacuumed and mopped. Kitchen bench cleared after baking. Reclaimed 2 shelves in kitchen which DP had filled with his stuff (threw his stuff in a box as he's out, doubt he'll be impressed but hey ho! I asked him to clear them ages ago. It's a kitchen not a store room!) I have used those to put my baking things which were sat in a carrier bag away neatly, all in labelled boxes :) After scrubbing the shelves of course as they were manky. I do want him to clear all his things off the top of the cupboards too, see if I can get him to do that next week. DS2 helped with the shoes sorting, still need to do the coats but want to sort wardrobes out first.

Roast is in aswell, forgot about that bit, about to go and run to do the veg as I forgot!
One day I might be more organised...........

pigpen, when we were kids, mum told us that if our clothes did not make it to the hamper daily (no bringing a huge heap in when we realized we were out), then we had to do laundry ourselves.

I have no idea why, but all 4 of us ended up doing our own laundry rather than taking the oh-so-long walk down the hall to drop our clothes in the hamper.

The kids rooms are back tidy :j . For months I have been trying to get DS to swap to the smaller bedroom DD is in, cos his toys are now fewer and smaller than DDs and they've both been refusing. DH spoke to them himself for the first time today and said Master Spendless if you have the small room I can rig up speakers so your PS games will be louder:rolleyes: and Miss Spendless in the larger room we could get you more Dora Stuff  and they both agreed straightaway :T .
  • Hi, all! Been out for a walk with DH - windy, and a bit nippy, but lovely. Disaster did strike, though - each of us thought the other had brought the chocolate    Needed the walk after being inside, tidying all weekend :D

“Parking change” to cars – done
    Meal plan - written
Check e-mails – unsubscribe from several newsletters – done
    Seedy loaf – in BM
Parsnip soup – cooking in Rayburn
    Beds - changed
    Freecycle items – allocated
    Recycling - to bins
    Compost bin – emptied
Football and swim kits – sorted
Freecycle chair – collected. Now need to decide what to do with the one it’s replaced.
    Document for DVLA – posted
    Stairs – hovered by DH
    Cake – made and iced
Clean and lay fireplace – fire blazing now!
    Order storage jars – done
WM – done and drying on creel

DD and I spent some time yesterday evening sorting our School Governor files. Schools generate so much paper. We now have a small pile for me to shred at w***, a larger pile for the recycle bin, and a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge pile that’s printed on one side, to re-use. Why don’t they use both sides?

    See you tomorrow!

That is a great idea.. may have to implement that for my oldest 2.

    WE HAVE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!

    DD1 vacuuming as I type.
DS1 picking up the last few bits on the landing then vacuuming that.. and My wash pile it this week challenge it is.. 6ft tall.. fills 2 hampers and half the kitchen.. BUT.. it is all going to fit in cupboards because they have sorted their clothes out too.. I have about 7 bags full to go to charity shop though and REALLY need to find my camera ASAP to get this lot ebay'd, loads is new with tags which is pretty anoying!

I haven't got the hallway done but with nothing to sort upstairs all week apart from a quick shimmy over I can get that done I hope.

My house has NEVER, in the 15 years I have lived as an independant adult, been this tidy or organised.

The children think I am a total slave driver, the husband thinks I have lost the plot and wishes I'd spent the last 7 years here instead of parenting forums being bored witless.

... DH just went up to check DS's room before he went out.. and has sent him back up to put his clean washing away.. pmsl.. he is in a right moody!

This weeks challenge is to find a decent chest of drawers for DS to keep his clothes in. He just asked nicely and I said if he keeps it clean and tidy because he has absolutely no excuse now as I threw everything out!

Back to the grindstone... dinner to cook, socks to pair up.. and I may just set DH on the hallway while I do food.

WM and TD's all on with washloads 7 & 8
    BM on again

And I have just found DS3's clean washing dumped on the sofa... ggrrrrr .. remind me why I bother!!

Just catching up with a few days posts and you lot have been really busy!!
I have to confess I chickened out of tackling the teenagers bedrooms but Pigpen and Serena you gave me a laugh and I guess thats what I have to look forward to- it won't be this week either as I am doing a full week at work so maybe the next!

The rest of the house is looking good though and I hope I can keep up this week.

DD studying for prelims so finding it hard to get time on the computer and also the fact that it needs to be on for at least 30 mins before the speed picks up in order to do anything!!!:rotfl:

Hope you all have a good week flying this week and I will try to check in- probably on my lunchbreaks at work ( the computers in the library are sooo much faster!):j

Happy flying- thanks Moggins for the posts!

Wow, you lot are doing well.

I also did the same thing with my DS this week, his clothes which are supposed to come down in his laundry bag every Friday didn't emerge, only his school uniform. So when they did come down he washed them himself :D
