pigpen - well done, sounds like a bit of a day, but must've been great to see the transformation!
lil_me - my mum had the smallest room when we were small - she said it was better for us to have the space as she only slept there. i can see it makes sense!
moggins - study / home office would be great as i work from home so need to do it! its the worst room by far in this flat, and the biggest!
well, we've had a good day - v relaxed, though have kept everything tidy and made sure sink was clean if not shiny before bed (am in bed typing on laptop!). OH sorted out my tv/dvd/stereo/vcr set up. comedy moment came when we couldn't work out how to reset clock on a timer i've had for ages and i had to nip to homebase while he made dinner - ended up buying an identical one, which we will return now we've photocopied the instructions
i am another one who can't relax or sit still - bit of an obsessive personality i think so end up always wanting to do the next thing.... today in shower noticed curtain was really manky so decided to scrub it down - no need to buy a new one now
happy sunday to allMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Sundays sleep in
Finally . . . something I managed to do!! LOL
After getting to bed just after midnight - got up to puppy about 6.30am - by 7.30 I was back in bed and slept till after 10 oclock!! It was bliss
Today has been spent cleaning up after the BBQ last night, got in yesterdays washing, put out three loads today, they are now in and folded but not quite put away, household finances done.
Had a few visitors today, left overs for lunch, takeaways for tea, kids did some vacuuming, sweeping, bathroom cleaning . . .
Life has been good!
Still to do:
Weekly menu
Grocery list
Spend some time tidying paperwork in office. If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Morning All, How are we today? Reading your posts has made me sooooo glad we don't have children yet, although we have started talking about trying for a baby soon, we must be mad!!!
Anyway, didn't do as much as hoped yesterday (was a bit lazy, but nice to have a break!), so list is a little longer for today. Here goes:
1. Get washed and dressed
2. Do morning routine
3. Phone Endsleigh
4. Fling Boogie in Linen Closet
5. Sort spare room (mammoth task, will take both DH and I hours!)
6. Clean out rabbit cage
7. Take out bins
8. [strike]Do 1 load washing[/strike]
9. Hang up 1 load washing
10. Fling Boogie on DH's bedside cabinet
11. Fling Boogie in Cupboard under window seat
12. Ironing
13. Sort out DVD's round TV (we watch them, then never put them back!)
14. [strike]Wash Up[/strike]
15. [strike]Cook dinner (beef stew in slow cooker)[/strike]
16. Wash Up again!
17. Evening routine
Think that will do for today. I will remember to put my shoes on, as I think that is where I went wrong yesterday. It is amazing how just having your shoes on makes you more motivated to do things!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
Well I am going to use today to try and get in the playroom!!!
I'm loving your lists moggins, and although I have a few extra rooms I just include them in when poss, eg the utility gets done with the kitchen, and if you say tackle a cupboard I will try a bit of the playroom etc.Always on the hunt for a bargain0 -
lil_me wrote:Darn sinks blocked again, just put some more boiling water in, see if that clears it, can't understand it as I don't think I have put anything fatty down there, will have to give it a good clean through tomorrow.
Dont laugh, but it could be dog hair!! Im backset with our Staffie at the moment, she is casting hair all over.....im surprised she has any hair left!!
However, my washing machine keeps blocking up, and i know its the dog hair thats causing it! Every so often theres a really nasty niff comes from the sink and im sure its coming from the blockages in the WM.
Anyway, todays tasks:
DW already emptied
WM on for the second time
Find somewhere to dry absolutely gorgeous Mickey Mouse duvet set bought off Ebay
Hoover dog hair in kitchen
Go through MASSIVE pile of paperwork, file or shred
Scrub bathroom coz i copped out on bathroom day last week
Do a list of what storage items i NEED to buy
And thats it!!! Got w**k tonight so id better get cracking!0 -
Ive had my Sunday sleep in, ive had my first cuppa and 2 shortbread biscuits, and im now ready to do something!!!!
Easy lunch, as the meat (i think its duck) was frozen in gravy, so no need to cook a joint today, just the pots and veg to do - and as the bedrooms look quite tidy (have already made the beds, do that before i come down stairs) hopefully they wont take too long to finish.
Hope everyone has a good day flying xxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Sat/Sun list
[STRIKE]Change bed[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash bedding[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash clothes[/STRIKE]
Tidy - clean study/spare room (need to start studying)
Tidy bedroom
NB Moving 'stuff' on to landing does NOT count
Tidy living room
Make marmalade (2 batches)
Slight change of plans.
Thanks to a suggestion from Sophiesmum I had a go at the writing desk drawers.
So will carry on with that today. If I get space in them I can get all my paperwork in one area.0 -
Hi everyone, I've already started on my list of things. I've had the tumble dryer on, washed dogs bedding, swept and wiped kitchen floor. The floor has been wiped twice because it so wet outside that when my 2 dogs come in it gets in such a mess. I'm away to tidy the kitchen table which I'm ashamed to say has become a hot spot. Its beside the back door, so things seem to get dumped there.
I've got a catalogue parcel to send back, so need to get that done. I mentioned to my son starting on his bedroom today and he's quite keen, although he wants to go to Argos for they're new catalogue. I've said I'll get him it after work tomorrow.
Last night I ended up making some pizza bases, because the mixture takes a wee while to be ready for baking I doubled it, so I ended up with 5 different sized bases which are now in the freezer. Got that tip from the OS board.
Oh and something has happened to my cupboards under the sink, every time I open the doors something else falls out, I think its because of the abundance of cleaning stuff I've now got, so thats going to get tackled today and got some paper work to do. Have a good day everyone. x0 -
Sundays sleep in.. you are kidding .. right??
Lol you lot are eager... hmmmm.. no, just sick of living in squalor!
If you have kept up all week then you should have all rooms cleaned and be all ready for Monday. .. except the children have trashed as fast as I have tidied.. and my 2 wheelie bins which were emptied on Thursday are bursting and I have extra bags to dling.. we had 6 extras to slip in other peoples bins last week.. up to 3 already this week.
So today can be (if you wish) a complete day of rest apart from dailies and nighttime routines.. I wish it I wish it.. but there is still loads to do.. 2 bedrooms and the front room is a bear pit which the chillies trashed this morning!
If you really want something to do then I challenge you to find the worst cupboard in the house (that one you dread opening because it all falls out when you open the door) and sort it. That describes every room and every cupboard in the house!!!!
Todays list.

Make DS1 sort through and clear ALL his stuff dumped on the landing.. there are 5 binbags of clothing scraped off his floor yesterday.. and I'm not doing it!
Send DH and the children into the girls room to make a start in there.
DD1's room.. not quite as vile as DS1's but very messy all the same., she can help in the girly room as there is no space for the 2 of us in her room.
Everyone can have a quick whizz over the front room.
I need to find my camera too.. and photograph the 2 bags of stuff I have for ebay.. I may even get round to listing some of it this week!
And last but by no means fun.. the hallway.. it need to be devoid of mess and tesco crates.
Not busy as all in here on a weekend!!
Missed off... the children are going to be pairing up socks too... EVIL mother!!!
Tonight I need to..
Bath and de-flea all the little grubs (ds1 and dd1 so not appreciate me bathing them! but dd will be de-flea'd too)
Teach DD2 (9) how to wash her own hair (her 11 year old brother can't even do his)
check homework.. all 7 lots!
find uniforms and sew buttons on DS1's blazer (£120 and the buttons drop off!!)
Make sure we have stuff for breakfast
feed bunnies
DH feed moggies
collect laundry from all over the house
Write a few lines in the 'little bear' journal as the nursery bear has come to spend the weekend with us. lil_me wrote:Home office, I suppose computer desk areas will come under that, darn it we have one very big one in sitting room and the 2 in the boys rooms
evil Mermaid mentioning that one! Saying that seeing the monitor without stretching is good sometimes.
Believe me, you ain't seen nothing! OH and I both work fro home in the same room as well as having 2 little ones. It's become a dumping ground. I'm allowing the whole week to get ours clearYou only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0
