Write a few lines in the 'little bear' journal as the nursery bear has come to spend the weekend with us. (He has eaten spaghetti and been to church!)

Perhaps you could write how good little boys and girls keep their rooms clean and tidy? And how 'little bear' enjoyed doing housework with mum/dad?

P.S Am taking the day off. Recharging batteries for tomorrow.

Pigpen - I am so happy you survived! I've just read your post to my 16yr old DS1, and gently reminded him that he and DS2 have to shovel out their room today! He says to say thank you to you (but not quite in those words..!);)

    Happy Birthday Nicki!

Just off to put on a steamed chocolate sponge for lunch, and must do some work for my course after.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning everyone.

Stressed already, made cake, well it's cooking now, son helped with that and fairy cakes, and now we are both covered in flour. He says we look like snowmen! While I was busy dogs were playing and arguing over a toy, managed to pull the jumper I took off (only wore it for first time this morning) so it didn't get dirty, and have ripped a huge hole in it. So they are now in the bad books. Going to do a little more baking, bread came out nice but want some fruit loaf for breakfasts, then need to tidy the kitchen as it looks like a tornado has hit it! Washing machine is on with another load, love to know where it all comes from!

Then it's the floors, kitchen, sitting room and hall, then will do the stairs and work my way upstairs, cleaning stairs and landing to DS2s room first and get that totally finished. Then need to clean marks off DPs suit and freshen up for funeral tomorrow, after that will go back in to DS1s room to do some more in there. Depending what time I get that lot done might 'attempt' fruit leathers today and put some other food in dehydrator that would have otherwise been flung.

Best get cracking, have a good day everyone!
One day I might be more organised...........

Well, that is more than my boy said lol. (was it along the lines of 'thanks an effing bunch for reminding my mother my room is a sty'? lol)

I'm in the middle of mucking out DD1's room right now.. taking 2 minutes for a cuppa in peace before the horde get back and to find some decent music.. she only has cover versions of cheesy 80's hit's (missing the 's' off the front I think!)

She will not be pleased I survived! I have binned one binbag of rubbish already.. and taking the rest of the roll up with me.. flash wipes and Henry are already up there looking menacing.

Second round of drying and washing now in... stripped DD1's bedding, she will hate me for that as she hates remaking her bed.

DH thinks I am SERIOUSLY ill.

Each child has a list of 'jobs' for today.. that should keep them busy.

The 2 little ones (2&4) who cannot read will just be bossed about instead.. they can move shoes and toys and pass messages.

    Back to the slavery!!

He actually said 'Oh b*****!', but in a funny way, if you see what I mean!

DS1 and DS2 are up in their room, dustbin bag, loud music, and the timer on for 15 mins, at this very moment.:T

Do you think they would notice if I added 5 mins to the timer?!

    Off to do potatoes...

I think you're an inspiration too!!

Just told them time up - and they asked if they could carry on for a bit longer! I'm in shock! They decided that they needed to empty out storage boxes of stuff they didn't want, so they had room for new stuff. Of course, this means the room actually looks 100 times worse than 15 mins ago...

Then popped head round DD's door to ask if she could move some stuff from sittingroom (had friend over to sleep last night), and she asked to finish clearing her floor first!

    Is Fly lady catching?? :D

  • Sundays sleep in Not a hope in Hell! DD and I were at Sunday School at 9am.

Lol you lot are eager. That's one word for it.If you have kept up all week then you should have all rooms cleaned and be all ready for Monday. So today can be (if you wish) a complete day of rest apart from dailies and nighttime routines. I have kept up most of the week so the house looks presentable. We have folk coming for Sunday Dinner and I've not had to run around like a demented idiot tidying. hurrah for Moggins!

If you really want something to do then I challenge you to find the worst cupboard in the house (that one you dread opening because it all falls out when you open the door) and sort it. I did the pantry as one of the hot spots this week and I can actually get in there now! So, that was the worst cupboard - does that count?

Remember girls this is not supposed to be a never ending round of housework but a way of keeping on top of things so you have more time for yourselves and the things you want to do. Looks like that's working already - I'm making dinner at my own pace instead of panicing about the state of the house as well as cooking.

p.s. if anyone has bits of the house that I haven't mentioned can you jot them here on the board and I will compile a list of other bits to include. Mine would be the computer area as well - it would be nice to do it separately. My kitchen is a large L shape - sofa at one end, kitchen going around the corner into the area where the computer sits surrounded by floor-to-ceiling bookcases. It would be nice to do the computer area separate from the kitchen:D
