Caught with no insurance

As a car speedo overreads, to be caught at an actual speed of 36MPH, your speedo would have been indicating nearly 40MPH so as far as you were aware, you'd be doing nearly 10MPH over the limit.
Not all speedos overread, those that do don't all overread by that much.
Granted the car I'm currently driving will indicate 45+ at 36 :rotfl:0 -
All I can say is good. You speed in 30 zones (repeatedly), and you drive without insurance or MOT.
You're exactly the type of person I want the police to be actively taking off the road and throwing the book at.0 -
Do you still have the SIGNED policy document and could the insurance company offer any proof they WROTE to you cancelling the document.
An insurance policy document is a legal contract and they are only certain ways it can be cancelled.
If you feel that the insurance company did not write and cancel the contract you could plead not guilty and call them as a defence witness and question them upon what steps they followed to inform you they had cancelled this contract.
The magistrates will have to consider if it was valid or not.
Defaulting on a credit agreement does not automatically cancel the contract, that has to be done in writing with proof of postage.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

'Just thought i'd mention that gettign 1 days cover to collect the car doesn't normally work
I know the pound we send our cars to will not release one without a 12 month policy in force0 -
Cant anyone with a fully comp insurance policy which also offers third party on any other vehicle, and the owners permission retrieve the car? (if this is completely wrong blame road wars as that's where i saw it):beer:0

Which is why the police need putting back in their box and reminding that they are there to enforce the Law, not make it up as they go along.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Firstly, no you are not a law abiding person. Secondly what your father is proposing is illegal. It is outright fraud and known as insurance fronting. It would mean your insurance is again cancelled even if you were paying for it and you'd be done for no insurance yet again.
Firstly Hammy you know nothing about me so please dont be so quick to be so judgmental. I had never heard of the facing or fencing (whatever its called) thing dad was talking about & had no idea it was an offense - neither did he when I told him. So its not happening. End of. Having red a few follow up threads that have appeared on here re it, it appears Im not the only one to either have heard of it, or realised its implications, it appears a grey area & is in fact MOOT as I would never go there.
And 1.8 million miles - well done - you have obviously been lucky to have never been caught but I absolutely refuse to believe you have never ever slightly gone over whatever speed limit you were in at any point in your life!!! Bull if you deny it, or anyone else for that matter - its very easy to do. I dont drive glued to my speedo every second im behind the wheel, & neither does anyone else.
My events on Friday were bad luck & mis-sight. NOT intentional. Not everyone is a down right crook trying to diddle the system. Have you never made a mistake in your life??0 -
6 points for IN code will still mean eye watering worth more than the car insurance quotes. Insurance companies don't like paying out for uninsured drivers and they unanimously use premiums to punish anyone with an IN offence code on their driving licence.
I did a quote for a 36 year old woman, with 8 years NCB, no accidents, an office worker, with an SP30 and a IN10, and declared Yes to having insurance cancelled... £420. Hardly eye watering. Ok, so the OP has two SP30's, I didn't do an exact quote for her, but still...
Being a woman, you have to do an awful lot to get a high insurance quote in my experience...
I pay way more than £420 and my record's a lot better than hers.0 -
thanks - will ask the pound, havent phoned them yet - was going to do so tomorrow as they told me they'd be doing the paperwork today so to leave it for a day or so.
Does anyone know re the post below if another fully comp with 3rd person on other cars can retrieve car then??0
