Hello Mrs Froogle :hello:
I probably won't be able to post tomorrow, so Happy New Year everyone!
DH and I are going to a friend's house in Suffolk to see in the new year. We're going armed with a bottle of champers and a bottle of red wine, just to help the festivities along. I'd offered to make a pudding, but my friend declined. We're going to see Ipswich v Birmingham tomorrow with these friends. I'm afraid I don't have much of a clue about the rules of football and to confuse me even more both teams are blue - though I imagine that Birmingham will be in their away strip, which I presume is another colour.:o
I've paid our council tax - it's something that I always do at the last minute, so at least that is done for another month. We've also walked into town and got ourselves a Sunday paper, which DH is reading whilst I talk to you lot!
However, I need to go and make lunch, which will be egg sandwiches! We know how to live!
Happy New Year everyone! :j :j :j

Hi guys, haven't read the thread yet but just thought I'd pop my head back up, let you all now I'm still here! Sorry I haven't posted, but have been super busy this past week.
Had a fantastic Christmas - not one duff present!! Also got enough money to buy a bed, so we should have a bed and wardrobesnbought within the next couple of weeks and then we can put the rest of the moving boxes away!!!! :j :j :j
Other than that, nothing too amazing has been going on. Got 3 weeks worth of shopping for about £40 at Lidl's the other day - am trying out more of their products. Got a 1kg tub of strawberry yoghurt (which is gorgeous) for £1.20-something. Will let you know how the other things fare. The grapes I bought (half price) aren't that nice, but I think I'll still try them again.
I then raided Somerfields (about 5.00) fresh bakery, all reduced - croissants, 10p each, French stick 15p, 6 crusty rolls 24p. They have some fantastic bargains - oh, how I long for a full size freezer. So, my kitchen is absolutely bulging, and I hardly felt a dent in my walllet!
I cleaned my Mum's kitchen whilst I was staying there - tried the trick of soaking the oven shelves in washing powder, and it really worked! Must do mine soon.
Plans for today:
[STRIKE]- Leek and Potato Soup[/STRIKE]
- Wrap OH's stocking presents (we're having 'our' Christmas tomorrow)
- Ironing
Have a brilliant New Year! :money:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hi everyone, can't believe it's afternoon already :rotfl:
Had a fab time last night at the panto with the family, it's a tradition in this house even though the children are now 22 and 20 - we loved it and sang and shouted along with all the other kiddies in the audience.
Am a bit kn*ckered today though but as it's DD's last Sunday with us until EasterI'm pulling out all the stops and we have a big beef joint in the oven which smells fab and will be ready fairly soon. DS is off to heaven knows where for a party tonight and OH and I are off to see in the New Year with my sis down in London. DD has decided to stay at home with the cat and go to bed, she has a long drive tomorrow.
Not much else is going to get done today - I made a start on the mountain of ironing yesterday but didn't get very far. Going to try and finish it this afternoon (oh no I'm not)
Great to see you back, Queenie, I was wondering where you'd disappeared off to. Have a great New Year everyone! Let's hope 2007 is the best yet.

Hello Everyone,
I hope you don't mind another 'new one' joining in. I have been a member for ages and have always enjoyed reading the OS threads, but have never mustered up the courage to post before, silly I know.
A little about me, I have been married for nearly 10 years, work part time with no children or pets. I look forward to joining in and getting to know you all, I will definitely be looking at the meal planning board as my new year's resolution is to stop buying cheap ready meals and start buying fresh food and to use it, not throw it away.
Bye for now

Right, once more unto the breach dear friends. I am off to brave DD's bedroom and get this darned Barbie monstrosity into her room. Wish me luck and if you don't see me until next week can someone shove the new Flylady thread and then send out a rescue mission
Moggins little legs will probably be waving helplessly from under DD's bed.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Good afternoon All - hope we are well
Welcome mrs froogle
Hope your feeling better pen-pin, Ive still got my ear infection, headaches not so bad - but bearable.
DLB what time do you want us round later! I cant believe how windy it is, hope it wont blow the BBQ out.
Myself & OH didn't go to bed until 03.40am. We was playing the Big Brother DVD game santa brought me. And also the PS2 Buzz game, which my babysitter let us borrow. Both are great and very addictive. Its the music Buzz game we was playing.
Very tired today. OH just gone to Tesco with DS to do the "big shop", but thanks to the freezer & store cupboard clear out yesterday, there isn't a great deal we actually need.
Just been ironing some items, ready to list on ebay soon. Might aswell make a start. Then my next challenge is to go thru my craft cupboard drawers/tall boy & boxes. Try and reduce my stock, and limit myself to what I use. I keep things for the sake of "i might use that one day", but if its not been used in the last 12months, then out it goes.
Using some left over HM meals today for dinner, kids will have spag bol, & me & OH will have stew & dumplings.
He's back now, so must get of here and lend a hand to un-pack
Have a lovely day all - HAPPY NEW YEAR
And lets make 2007 a great year for all us OS, To continue with the love & support for each other.
love as usual xxx
