  • thanks for all the welcomes - you seem such a nice bunch! We've just taken dim and dimmer (our dogs - not their real names, obviously, just the more polite nick names we have for them) out for a walk by the canal followed by a shampoo and set to remove the canal water! I'm sure it costs us less to have them than join a gym!

We have a couple of friends to ours for home made spag bol, garlic bread and tarte tatin and maybe one, very small drink (ahem!!). I'm off to have a nice lazy bath before I start getting everything ready.

    Happy new year everyone!

    Hi everyone

:santa2: to all the newbies, great to see you all.

Ventured out into the land of the great unwashed :D Had to sort out a delivery for a client next week so popped into Comet and Curry's while I was there - had a look at a couple of things that in true mse style, I'll source cheaper and when I can afford them.

Also went to Tesco's hoping for some reductions - nothing there, bar a bit of ham from the deli counter that had come unwrapped. So, just got milk/yogs/fruit and took my life in my hands trying to get home. The weather!! Went out looking all smart, hair done, slap on .... walked back in looking like the proverbial drowned rat :rotfl:

Also found out that the wind has been blowing in a completely different direction. Usually in really bad weather, we get leaks through the flat roof into the garage - but today I found a lovely little river running down the wall behind our bed  (We also have a flat roof above the bedroom) The wind has moved the aerial cable and pulled the flashing back, so a little job for Mr TM to attend to sooner rather than later. At least it's stopped now, thank goodness.

Right, given we are staying in tonight, I am having a Bailey's coffee, then will start on the "real stuff" later. Am about to start dismantling one of the xmas trees and the boys are watching Doctor Who (again :D)

Forgot to say - Happy Birthday to madmummy - hope MATH is looking after you :D

Happy New Year to everybody :T :xmastree:  :T

Happy New Year to everyone

My resolution is to post on here more regularly. I did over the summer, but then lapsed into bad habits, but I do read regularly.

Weather here is getting worse so we're staying in for the evening (me, DH and 2 DDs). DH has decided to paint the workshop walls this evening  so after I've got the girls to bed, I'll crack open a bottle or 2 and watch some naff TV in front of the fire. Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Happy New Year Aussielass. We are still waiting to kick off.

DH out at the moment trying to get NYE bargains! Had a good day - the ironing all done and various other bits and pieces. Going to Zoo tomorrow weather permitting.

A Guid new year to one and all! Going through to neighbours for a quiet night about 8.00 pm. Sending texts to kids as we probably not up for the bells.

Loves and hugs to those that need them.

Thanks for all your support since I joined over the last couple of weeks. Really appreciate.

    Afternoon everyone :)

Welcome to all the new members, I do hope you stay :)

Late one from me today. Had a fun morning out with ds as we finally got to see "Night at the Museum" it was a hilarious film for both of us, I loved Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan in it. We took a packed lunch with us :D and ate it in the cinema which was fine as there were only eight people watching. The grumpiest assistant ever served us which makes me really cross as I am always polite as pre-children I spent my days working various customer service type jobs and there is no need for it, I am debating whether to complain as she really was out of order for no reason.

I'm feeling like I've indulged way too much over the last few weeks and am considering doing a detox in the New Year (could do with an online buddy?), either that or some serious resolutions need to be made. The indulgences continue tonight with our NYE meal of a nice bottle of red and some olives given to dh by my parents and then a nice steak dinner to follow. I'm not even sure if we will make it to midnight. We don't go out at New Years as we can never really find a babysitter.

Happy New year Aussielass and anyone else across the pond and everyone else here to follow. We have already had the drunken phonecall from my inlaws in NZ that we get every year  :D .
  • Good afternoon fellow MSErs

I have been busy today tidying up a bit. We are having a quiet NYE here in County Antrim. Just as well because the weather is awful.

Tried speaking to our clan in SA using Skype but there was some problem with the connection so we had to phone instead.

Hope everyone has a great NYE and all the best to all MSErs in 2007

    Afternoon everybody :hello:

Just back from my first raid on this year's sales. Went into Next and got a fab pair of grey boots, a pair of shoes for work, and what is pretty much the Holy Grail by Next Sale standards - a whole matching suit - jacket, trousers and skirt, all smart and all machine-washable :j :j The jacket is Petite fit but that tends to fit me better even though I'm not petite - cos of the way I'm built the Petite-cut jackets seem to nip in in the right places ;) Also picked up a couple of tops in Wallis.

After that I raided two separate mini-Tescos for bargains - how sad is that? :o:D I was only going to look in one, but as I was wandering down to catch the bus I realised there was a second one I could go to as well. Spent about £10 and got loads of reduced stuff, regrettably most of it was pre-prepared "oven ready" stuff rather than plain OS joints of meat, but at least my freezer is now chocka and I'll only need a few odds and ends of veg now for the next couple of weeks :T

Welcome to all who've joined the Daily Thread today, I hope you all decide to stay here through 2007!

I'm off to put the kettle on - my throat is killing again, though fortunately my voice did make it through this morning's Mass! I won't be going out this evening, though maybe next year I will go to the festivities on the South Bank with friends (it's less than an hour to walk home, which means no need to worry about public transport or cabs, but I certainly wouldn't walk through this area alone in the middle of the night!) I'm just grateful to be here in my nice cosy flat - this time last year I was stranded on the station platform in Durham attempting to get back from my mum's, and there were no trains for 2-3 hours because of a total power failure at Morpeth...

    Love Rzl xx
