Cat Thanks for that kind thought. :kisses3: I've just poured another red to toast you.
& congrats on 3000 posts or is 4000 now.
Shez Yes we are coming over there in Feb. Spending our first week in London. I've been told it's ok to wear my shorts.I'm growing my leg hair for warmth.
I'm taking our decorations down tomorrow. I will get DGS to help me. I usually leave them up a bit longer but will keep him busy for a while.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hi all, I'm just trying to have 5 minutes to myself, MrW is bored so he is following me around fussing. I was trying to tidy the kitchen a bit but he just gets in the way. LOL.
Nothing planned for tonight, no doubt I will be trying to keep the dog calm, he hates fireworks so he will have his dose of Valium and probably lie on the bed with me.
I got a few good bargains this week, shoes down from £70 to 20 and a nice top. Best buy was in a card shop where all the cards were half price so I stocked up for the year for £9. I was thrilled, how sad am I?
We are still eating leftovers, I have some cooked ham and loads of free range eggs which were reduced to 40p, so it's omelettes today.
Have a lovely evening and A HAPPY NEW YEAR.0 -
Good morning everyone, hope all are well
Should be a pretty quiet day for me, DP is still sleeping as he'll be at work until about 7am most likely so it's peaceful. Got a lot of house jobs to do, and I need some potatoes etc for tea, maybe some more nibbles going to check what I have in in a bit first, but have almost £30 left in my budget to buy them, next budget starts tomorrow but will try not to spend it all.
Going to make some popcorn and other nibbles and slump in front of the tv with the kids with a DVD tonight after a much needed soak in the bath and pamper myself half hour, become a bit of a tradition for mebut an enjoyable one. Part of me is pleased we don't have new neighbours on the other side yet, and the house joining on are off to a dinner dance and aren't exactly the loud party type (being pensioners) so hopefully won't be too much noise and the kids will be able to sleep ok. Got some herbal drops for the dog which might help them come midnight when the fireworks start, no idea what the pup will be like but my other dog is petrified of them
Hope all who won't be online again today and are partying have a great time. Happy New Year everyoneOne day I might be more organised...........

Having lurked for months (if not years), I decided to be really brave and post something. That way, when I know the answer to questions, it doesn't seem really rude to just butt in with a response! Just a few quick things about myself - I live with DH, two very, very stupid labradors and three cats (not quite sure how we ended up so outnumbered!). I think this moneysaving lark is great - I get really cross with myself now when I spend money I don't need to. And I really, really, really want chickens!0

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and thrifty 2007. I don't normally post on this thread, but this board has helped me make some great changes in my life and I'm planning many more in the new year. Thank you.0

Having a lovely pj and telly catch up day today and whilst that is going on I may also be taking down the tree - well sick of seeing it now so its got to go.
Made a veg soup in the SC at midnight last night and then slept for 10 hours whilst it cooked so that is my food today I love OS cooking!! - it is a bit of strange combination including sprouts shallots and parsnips :rotfl: but hey ho it smells delicious.
Off to a party tonight which actually I could do without but I know I will enjoy when I get there.
So Happy New Years Eve to all my OS friends (and Happy New Year to Aussie of course:T )
Hope you all have a lovely evening and that 2007 will be the best year ever

Afternoon everyone - no I didn't make it in time to say Good Morning!
We had a lovely evening last night. We had some family and friends round for the evening for tea. We had HM pizzas and they were fantastic. I also made a chilli and I tried Nigella's malteser cake out. It is fabulous. Loved by kids and adults alike. Well worth a try if you fancy a chocolate cake with a difference.
Unfortunately DS was ill with a tummy bug. Wish I had known about the Buccastem, he couldn't even keep a mouthful of water down. I'm shattered now, what with trying to make sure DS was OK, then running back downstairs to look after my guests. Of course DS is fine now, having had two weetabix for breakfast he is playing on his PS2 quite happily. Kids are wonderfully resilient aren't they?
I want to use my slow-cooker today to see if it is OK being used for a shorter time. When I have used it in the past it hasn't been successful, but having had a look at the SC Q&A thread I think it is because I leave it on for too long. I'll have a go whilst I'm in the house and see if it is better.
Right, that's me done. I need to do some tidying up and I might take the decs down. Have a good NYE everyone and best wishes for 2007!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
