It is a shame. What a waste of a life and the talent she was given.0

some press are saying they had her obit written for a few years. no surprise at all really.
still sad but it was her choice to take all those drugs and never admit she had a problem.Countdown to Discharge Is On!

Was more an observation of how most people think and where there sympathies go.
I have had a close family member die through drug and alcohol abuse and even then I had no sympathy. For there mother/father yes, for the person, none.
That doesn't mean that other people are not entitled to feel sympathy for Amy. Nobody chooses to end up like that. Alcoholism and drug addiction are a disease.
And I think most of us are capable of feeling sad about both these tragic events. We don't need to compare them and measure/analyse which is more tragic.0 -
Without wanting to sound insensitive, It was only a matter of time before this happened.
I agree 100%, if it wasn't drugs it would have been something that was equally avoidable if she'd just got herself help.
A terrible loss to the music industry. Not sure whether it's anything to cry over though, I'd take a look at what's happened in Norway before you shed tears over her.0 -

She did admit she had a problem, she had been in and out of rehab many times, she knew she had a problem but she could not beat that problem.0 -

She died, is it a shock? No. Will it affect your life personally? No. Was she a good musician? Yes, I enjoyed her music, but that said she hasn't produced anything of note in years because of her drug addled state.
I may sound harsh but I haven't seen or heard any sorrow about the tragic events in Norway, but the minute a celebrity dies all hell breaks loose in the UK. The amount of texts I've had already and posts on Facebook you'd think it was their own mother or father the way people are going on.
I do realise that drug and alcohol abuse is a disease, I've had to live with it, and see someone close to me live through it, but in the harsh light of day, you realise that these people manage to tear families apart and ruin other peoples lives with there own selfishness.
Yes it's sad, am I distraught about it hardly. Would people be similarly affected if it was one of the many down and outs you see daily begging on the street? I'm guessing not. So why be that way because she was a famous singer once. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

No one I know personally, no. Oh I tell a lie, someone I know who has friends in Norway did. On the news of course.
Did I know people taking paddys and in tears over it, no.
End of the day we have different opinions, there's no point going over and over it. Do I have sympathy for drug users who die, none in the slightest, some people obviously do. They won't change my mind, I won't change theres. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I dont mean this flippantly but I have been gardening all afternoon, completely missed all the drama, what has happened to Amy Winehouse?
To be honest I also have no idea what has gone on in Norway. Haven't seen the news or read a paper for a few days, been that busy with end of term garb!!!!!!0
