Who on earth is Amy Winehouse? I was upset about the tragedy in Norway.......was in tears when I watched the news online. The thought that nowhere in the world is free of such people, and so many people are traumatised and bereaved.0

and now the double train crash in China in which 30+ have died so far...
At least this was a pure natural accident rather than someone deliberately killing themselves or others.

Just been a dreadful weekend for tragedies all told
I dont know, I just cant watch the news anymore. Its like Im totally over loaded with grief. From the starving millions in Somalia and North Korea to train crashes in China and mass shootings and deaths of those in the public eye in between.
No I can no longer watch the news, I gave up on newspapers years ago and I stick to the radio.0 -
Yep, the real people that loved her, the ones that talked to her and knew her personally.Kimberley82 wrote: »I feel so sorry for everyone who loved her and the pain they must be in right now
Not the ones that saw her on telly.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Its a funny old world. I'm learning you can tell alot about a person by what they say on an internet forum, or maybe you can't. Maybe people say one thing to veil what they really feel.
Sorry for the copy and paste, but
Amy Winehouse was simply a human being with an amazing talent and creativity. Nothing else matters. You can argue until the cows come home. She was an ordinary human being, with an extraordinary talent.
Maybe this is what leads some people on the path of self destruction. Their inability to cope with something no one understands. I'm not a fan of this kind of music, but Amy had me captivated, You couldn't fail to be moved or captivated, listening to someone's soul. She had the most amazing, unique, voice
Everyone is different in the depths of emotions they feel or allow to feel or show. She was on a path to self destruction, which was inevitable. I think its so sad, and yes it makes me cry. Maybe there is something " wrong " with me, too.
Anyone's death for whatever reason, is a sad occurence.
I wonder if her soul is put to rest? I hope so.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I didn't post that about the cup of tea meaning it to be taken seriously, there was a subtext to what I posted, which is...Its a funny old world. That I really don't understand the shrieking grief of people that didn't know her. I understand its generally a sad situation, but as has previously been pointed out so is the one in Norway, Japan, China and there is widespread famine in Africa again.
And yet people choose to bleat over a what is essentially just a talented junkie who had the world at her feet, had more opportunities in her short life than most of us will see our entire lives, and chose to throw it all away rather than get professional help. Michael Jackson is another case in point. Drug abuse can kill you, its that simple.
I'm sorry she's dead, but In my opinion she is lucky to have lasted this long.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
