euro car parks - parking charge notice

It was only a month or so ago he started doing this, so they won't have reached court yet.
Anyone who has received a claim and knows about the VCS ruling will have a fairly easy time I reckon. Fingers crossed that they have.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Hi mrdeedee, I'm following this thread with interest as I'm in exactly your situation but a few weeks behind you. I also overstayed the 2 hour limit (in Morrisons' free car park in High Wycombe) about a week ago and my husband (the car's registered keeper) was sent a letter yesterday from Euro Car Parks informing him that he needed to pay a £90 fine, which would be reduced to £70 if he paid within 2 weeks. This is despite the notices in the car park saying that the fine would be "up to" £70. I'm tempted to ignore it after reading all the advice on here, but have been scared by the fact that they named their solicitor when writing to you... that makes it seem to me like it's real..?
They didn't include any photos in our letter, but told us the time at which I'd been photographed entering and leaving the car park. It seems from what I've read on here that my husband is not obliged to tell them that I was driving, but I'm worried they'll turn up at the house and see that I match the person in their photo, and they'll know it was me!
Am I just being really paranoid...?
One other question (am I supposed to start a new thread if I'm asking my own questions on the back of someone else's? I'm new here...) - how do I know whether the land I parked on is private? Are there any cases where a supermarket car park is council-owned and therefore users would be legally obliged to pay up?
Hi, I just got exactly the same thing? How did it go?

It would appear to me that the DVLA is missing a trick when they are only charging PPC's £2.50 for RK details. they could double the charge or more and the PPC's would still have to pay up.Obviously the people in charge of the DVLA are not very financially astute.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Welcome to MSE! Hope you have read the sticky thread (second to top at the moment). See my signature and the links below.
It's obvious how it went because they are all the same, the scam is the same and nothing else happens.
I have also had a Euro Car Parks fake PCN and I laughed at it and ignored all the letters. That was 4 years ago and this year I got another one on my car, heehee!
:D
You are not liable to pay and you must not 'appeal' either. This is a private company with an unsolicited invoice, dressed up to impersonate a parking ticket.
Tick off the threatening letters Here.
Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion here.
Barrister's opinion here.
Please follow and read those links, now, so you know what it's all about and can just play a nice game of snap with the template threatogram letters.
Nothing else will happen, it really is just like a series of phishing emails.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all
We had a PCN fron Euro car parks on 12th April 2012. We have now had a letter fromn Roxburghe and totday a letter from Graham White Solicitors.
I've ignored them all after reading the advice on here, but it seems they are very persistant.0 -
Blazeboy, that is only because it costs them birtually nothing to be persistent. They are all pro forma letters with just your individual details added in as required. It is probably even automated so all they have to do is put the letter in the envelope and stick it down.
It is well known that Roxburghe and Graham White Solicitors share offices and send out letters from the same desk.
Just hang in there and ignore unless you get genuine court papers, very unlikely , but if you do come back here or visit pepipoo forums for good advice on what to do next.0 -

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You have a Scottish ticket - That really does require its own thread. There are slight legal differences, although the basic advice to IGNORE still applies!0 -
