The "debt collection" agency is either another monkey in a suit the next table down or it's someone swapping out the Euro headed paper in the printer for the "Debt Collection" headed paper.

    Carry on ignoring

    Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in responding to all your kind posts, I read the article, thanks for sharing this.

I just received a letter from the debt collectors stating that they will pursue the matter with or without my cooperation and if I do not pay within 10 days they will pass the matter to their solicitor(who they named) and will review my case for potential prosecution. The fee has also increased to almost £120. Should I be worried?

    Thanks

"will review my case for potential prosecution". They actually said that?

Yes says that on the letter. Pretty similar to this one:

No, just continue to ignore... please heed the advice given! The 'threat-o-grams' will stop soon and they will move onto someone else when the realise you are not falling for the scam.

This is yet another scare tactic to part you with your money and give it to them... they just want you to send them money.

The 'Solicitor' is not really a solicitor either, just the same person who is claiming to also be a debt collector!

Thanks all. I actually found a link which shows the next few letters I should expect so I will dig in. Thanks again.

You can safely ignore Roxburghe and Graham White!
  • Hi mrdeedee, I'm following this thread with interest as I'm in exactly your situation but a few weeks behind you. I also overstayed the 2 hour limit (in Morrisons' free car park in High Wycombe) about a week ago and my husband (the car's registered keeper) was sent a letter yesterday from Euro Car Parks informing him that he needed to pay a £90 fine, which would be reduced to £70 if he paid within 2 weeks. This is despite the notices in the car park saying that the fine would be "up to" £70. I'm tempted to ignore it after reading all the advice on here, but have been scared by the fact that they named their solicitor when writing to you... that makes it seem to me like it's real..?

They didn't include any photos in our letter, but told us the time at which I'd been photographed entering and leaving the car park. It seems from what I've read on here that my husband is not obliged to tell them that I was driving, but I'm worried they'll turn up at the house and see that I match the person in their photo, and they'll know it was me!

Am I just being really paranoid...? :/

One other question (am I supposed to start a new thread if I'm asking my own questions on the back of someone else's? I'm new here...) - how do I know whether the land I parked on is private? Are there any cases where a supermarket car park is council-owned and therefore users would be legally obliged to pay up?

Just search Graham White on here. He or rather Michael Sobell who is sole practician of Graham White solicitors, is a joke, and basically just sells his name to Roxburghe to use as intimidation.

Ignore them! As hundreds if not thousands have without problem!
