  • Good morning, been up since 6.30am:mad:, its the holidays for goodness sake.

So far this morning i have spent most of my time sat on my bottom at the computer, not a very good use of time:(.

Done some surveys, checked ebay (no bids:mad:), spent £32 at Debenhams bought a wedding present for a friend, they have got married abroard and are having a get together when they get back, also got a couple of bits of school uniform that were in the sale, free delivery and went through Quidco.

Washing machine and dishwasher are on, need to relight stove as i forgot to fill it with wood last night before bed:mad:.

Have done meter readings this morhing £4.34 gas and £13.03 elactic for the week, not bad and still keeping it under £20 a week, we are in credit at the minute £76.72, hopefully we will build a little bit of a reserve up that will see us through the coldest part of winter.

Need to go into Town today as need to pay a bill at the Halifax and they won't let me do it online:mad:, need to also buy some contact lens solution will nip into boots and see if i have enough points to get it there, will also park in free car park on outskirts of town, will mean a 20minute walk, that will please DS.

Speaking of DS he has woken up in a horrendous mood, complaining its cold, of course its nothing to do with him sat in pyjamas that are the shorts ones, silly boy has been told to put on his dressing gown and put the fleece blanket on him that is behind him on the sofa:mad:, will wash the pj's he has on and put them away to ebay, he has a drawer full of long leg, long sleeved pj's but insists on wearing these one because they have man utd on them, he has also thrown a hissy fit and told me i'm the worst mum ever, ever, ever, because i won't let him open a box of coco pops when there are still frosties, cheerios and crunchy nut cornflakes to eat, GET OVER IT CHILD is my reply:rotfl:.

Right off to have a shower and get dressed.
    Have a good day.
  • My kitchen sink is leaking, looks as if some of the silicone has worn away from the bit under the sink where the sink and plughole meet (hope that makes sense) its a double sink and its the little one thats leaking, rang hubby and he is going to pick up some sillicone on his way home from work tonight, so i've cleaned under the sink, thrown away a carrier bag of tat and laid a towel and plastic tub underneath the drip.

Also decided i need to drink up the boxes of various teas i have lingering, green tea, peppermint and about half a dozen boxes of various fruit teas, don't know why i keep buying them as i very rarely drink them:o.
  • Managed to get in and out of town quite quickly, parked at the retail park om the outskirts as its free and walked into the centre, gave the kids some wine gums to eat on the way in, so they kept them quiet. Halifax was a nightmare, 2 cashiers on and pepole where qeued out the door, they shut all the small branches around here and just kept the big ones, total nightmare.

Nipped into Boots for contact lens solution and they had 25% the 3 month supply boxes, so got one of those for £14.99 instead of £19.99 and recieved a NO7 voucher, didn't get anything as the branch of Boots i was in was a small one, will have a look in the bigger one next week.

Also got some washing hung out before i went, so thats blowing in the wind, going to go and see if its dry and try and get another load hung out.
  • Well done you on the no tumble dryer life!
I bought three of the washing poles last week as B&Q, reduced from £21.95 to £10 each as they are getting a new design in - result. Of course now i need DH to dig the holes and concrete them in. Meanwhile we are having fantastically windy dry sunny days, ggrrr. Old line was just strung up between two trees and it kept rubbing and breaking on a corner wall. Ho hum, a job for the weekend -when of course winter will set in!!

Sorry work it pants atm, hopefully Christmas spirit will kick in soon. I don't like my job either but there is nowhere else to go just now.

Glad you are back, i've missed your cooking!

  • :jHi PWD, great to hear from you, sorry i went awol.

I have a washing line, don't like those whirly things, find they take ages to dry clothes, love seeing all my towels flapping in the wind, i am totally sad:o.
  • Hello. Sorry to hear things have been so bad at work at the moe :( The holiday sounds a great idea and just what you all need as a family. I dont think its that bad to plan a holiday when you have debt as you need some good things in your life aswell and as long as its all planned for and not adding to debt it has to be a good thing :):)

Great that you havent had to get a new tumble drier - i am desperate for one lol but i know it wont be good for the electric so wouldnt really want to use it lol.
Good to see you back and posting x

  • Thanks m2mg.

Well yesterday afternoon we decided to watch Marmaduke on dvd and i fell asleep on the sofa and woke up an hour later, kids both laughing at me as i was snoring:o, felt totally pants and groggy and took me ages to get going again, so nothing more than getting tea ready was done last night, was back in bed for just after 10pm and slept until 7.30am this morning, feel a bit better for it, think all the stress and sleepless nights have caught up with me and now i'm on half term its hit me like a truck.

So today is going to be a lazy day at home, need to get caught up with the ironing, get some washing done and make some soup.

Paid milkman last night £8, so thats me well and truly over the grocery budget for the month, refusing to set foot in a supermarket until monday when i get paid and to be honest i shouldn't really need much, just fruit and veg and sandwich meat, will probably go to Lidl.

Recieved a £2.50 amazon voucher this morning, saving up for a Hexbug set for DS for xmas, still no bids on ebay:mad:, must get some more stuff listed but will probably do that tomorrow as both children are out for the day:).

Dh forgot the silicone last night as he was back from work late, so pipe under the sink still has a tub underneath it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning Penny :)

Nice to see you back. I love to read your diary :)
I am sorry to hear that you have been under so much pressure but hopefully this week will do you good. You are so right to go on that holiday. For 4 of you its not a bad price especially when that includes villa etc. Do not feel guilty for giving your kids good memories.:):):)

    Look forward to your postings
    take care

  • Hi ebayqueen, thanks for popping by and posting, sorry you have also had a rough couple of weeks, sending you a dodgy hug:grouphug:, hope things get better soon.

Right so far this morning i have made the kids pancakes for breakfast, got a red lentil, tomato and chorizo soup on the go:), found some part baked baquettes in the cupboard saves me baking bread to go with the soup:D.

Filled inside log basket and stacked more wood by back door, dishwasher on, washing machine on first load has been hung outside, the load that is on at the minute will be hung on airer.

Ordered some christmas presents from PastTimes, they currently have a sale on and are offering free standered delivery also used a 10% off code and got 15% from quidco, so some lovely picture frames ordered just need to print out some nice pictures off the children, perfect presents for great grandparents and great aunts and uncles.
