Starlorna22, I am in same situation, the condition of low offer was to move quickly, three months later and hundreds of stupid questions such as "Do the management company and Freeholder know that the house was divided into 4 flats in 1986" and we are no further forward, supposed to exchange Friday, was assured it would happen today instead, and now can't get hold of anyone.
BTW the answer was - "Really would hope so as they been collecting 4 lots of quarterly charges, and have only owned the freehold for ten years!!!"0 -
I have got the mortgage offer! now We shall see what the solicitors do. But Northen rock did get it wrong so they are resending out the documents.
We did the application for a 3 year fixed and they sent out stuff for the 5 year fixed but that should all be sorted now!

We are still waiting to exchange. My sellers signed on Wednesday, my buyers were to sign on Thursday but went to solicitors and for some reason didnt pay the deposit (cleared funds) I been told the completion date hasn't been moved to 1st Feb but without knowing why deposit hasn't been exchange we are in the dark.
I got told on Friday afternoon something wasn't right and had to stew on this all weekend and now it looks like it could be another few days. I cant do anything now until this is sorted. I had booked removals van on Thursday, BT had fun and games with them to new address, Broadband with my ISP. I suppose I can get date changed but I had so much aggravation getting my broadband on new address using my old telephone number. Had a great guy on adslguide who worked for my ISP help me get my broadband sorted with BT due to there system being messed up that I don't really look forward to changing but of course I rather do that than loose what has been achieved so far0 -

Hopefully we can complete by the end of February0 -
Just stopped by for a quick check up on people's progress. Absolutely delighted for you LynzP - Congratulations! I hope everything went/goes smoothly with your move.
We've now been in our house for exactly a month and all the worry and panic of the "Race to be in for Christmas" seem a long distant memory! We're so pleased with our new house - it really was worth all the stress to make the move, even though it took a year from putting the old house on the market to actualy moving into the new one.
For those of you still waiting or trying to move, stick with it, it really is worth it in the end. Good Luck everyone.0 -
AGHHHHH! Still waiting for exchange, have been trying for 3 days now. My sol gets to speak to a different solicitor every time she calls buyer's sols, and the guy at the bottom of the chain seems to be stalling for some reason. :mad:Addicted to Facebook0

No exchange for today. My seller is holding the whole chain up. The chain fell apart at the same time last time because of her and now she is doing it again! Is she really serious about selling??? I don't know. We are bending over backwards to get things going - even putting in more money for a deposit. The solicitor is asking us to ask our bank for a wire transfer so it will get to her the same day. What does that mean? The first lot of the deposit was done by bank transfer as our bank said this was the only way to do it. I am confused, fed up and feel totally bullied.0

Humm looks as though everything is about to fall through, after a over month of being told we are ready to exchange from buyers sol, it has transpired that the buyer has not signed fixtures and fittings, the contract or transfered any money as he said he would. So much for the ultimatum, I guess I will have to follow through and remarket the property. Hopefully it'll be worth a little more to offset the sol fees, can't get the time back though.
Ho hum - third time lucky, at least this didn't drag on for five months as with the buyer beforehand.0 -
