Hello Everyone,
I've been reading this thread since it started, but I haven't really contributed anything yet! Just wanted to say well done to all who have exchanged and good luck to those still going through it.
Well, I finally exchanged yesterday!! I was expecting to exchange and complete on the first day, as I'm a FTB with a 100% mortgage, but both our sellers and her sellers sellers (!) were happy to exchange on a nill amount! I didn't evem know you could do that.

I am hoping they have paid but only in cheque or an oversite, my buyers have always been keen and never been a nuisance
I just wish it didnt happen today of all days, 2 days to stew on itThe first I herad of it was today from my sellers EA.
Still it isnt all bad news, I just have to try and be positive.

congratulations Lynzpower.
I should get my other half to read this thread to appreciate how lucky we were!
We went from DiP to moving in 5 weeks, and he stressed the hell out of me during the whole process. I think the fact that I work for a broker and knew exactly what was needed made a huge difference to us. We have adverse, so our mortgage is with Mortgages PLC. Now I know how many months it takes for our sub prime clients to get mortgage offers, and I tried to explain this to hubby when we'd got our offer inside of 2 weeks.
The biggest stress I had was dealing with Barratts - we bought a part-ex house from them. Barratts are complete t****** and I will never ever have anything to do with them again, though I can't ever imagine moving out of my scrummy mid-terrace house that needs decorating and a new kitchen, and various other things.
Good luck to all here who are still in the midst of it.0 -
An update for you all: today we got the last of the searches of the house we're buying (all fine) and also found out - the deeds that we have to sign & return are going to be going straight to the bankruptcy courts as the people we're buying from are bankrupt! Anyone ever had any dealings with that kind of thing? I think it might delay it all a bit - mostly because I want to make doubley, tripley(?!) sure that it's not going to look bad on OUR credit rating once we own that house. Any ideas?
Apart from that, contracts re our sale are finally being drafted, weeee! It's only taken two n a bit months! (I thought we might be stuck here forever...)0 -
The previous owners credit history won't be linked to you as far as I know Claire, so I wouldn't worry about that. Unless someone corrects me on that!
I am sure it will be fine!0
