Yep, Squeak comes in and gets cosy early in the mornings (or any hour of the night if she won't settle in her cot, but as a rule she's pretty good
) and I like waking up at a reasonable hour to a beaming smile and a big soggy kiss:D unless she's full of beans, then she's roaming around the bed, or sitting up and chatting, usually you can hear 'bayboo' in there somewhere, that seems to mean waybuloo
and the usual 'dad dad dad' if he isn't awake yet, she likes us all to get up at the same time. If Daddy gets a lie in she goes to the bottom of the stairs after breakfast and calls him :rotfl:
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

my house is clean and tidy but not like a show home and with 3 kids and 3 cats i wouldnt be able to have it any other way lol
basics such as beds made, toilets wiped, a load of washing on, downstairs hoovered, litter tray sorted several times a day get done and kitchen is clean and tidy and im happy. i usually get a couple of other bits such as dusting etc done but dont get stressed about it. Im looking forward to the holidays so i dont have to go down to school 3 times a day.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -

I polish, wipe and dust every surface in the living room, dining room and kitchen every day, as well as hoovering and mopping the wooden floors. The bathroom gets bleached and floor mopped every day. Our room and the baby's room get hoovered as well. Back yard is scrubbed with disinfectant every day as well.
Bedding gets washed and ironed every few days as well. Curtains get washed every other month, as do the the blinds:eek:
The baby is dressed in fresh clothes every day and fresh pjs at night.
We have two dogs and rabbits/guinea pigs outside and I'm paranoid about the house smelling:eek: but also I'm very houseproud and think there is no excuse for a mucky house!! x
I work full time. That, to me, is a brilliant excuse for not living in a spotlessly clean house. I am of the life is for living, not cleaning school of thought. I would rather spend quality time with my family than worrying about the skirting boards or kitchen floor. Too many women complain endlessly about not having enough time and it is usually because they spend all their time cleaning, working and cooking. That's not a life, that's a prison sentence!
ETA: I do get up at half five to give the dog an hour long walk before work - and today she decided to roll in fox crap so I had to bath her when I got home. I then put all the towels on to wash. All before half eight. My son, who is at home at the moment, will clean the bathroom and kitchen and hoover. He'll also walk our other dog.0 -
I'm terribly houseproud and do everything the OP does daily, including cleaning the yard.
I have it all down to a fine art by now and am not a happy bunny if I don't get my routine done for some reason.
To be honest keeping on top of everything seems the only way to me as I can't live in chaos or with the knowledge that something needs doing.
I'll admit I'm OCD but have no intention or need to change.
I can honestly say I actually enjoy housework,I find it very therapeutic.0 -

How do you find the time though? This is what I puzzle over. If I spent so much time cleaning, I would have to neglect my business and social life. I can't see any contest here, cleaning has to suffer.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
;)again, I never jeopardise any time spent with my family. Its an hour or so in the morning before OH goes to work. I'm up regardless cos I walk my dogs and do some training with them. OH likes to spend time with the baby before work, as he is usually in bed before he gets home x I spend the rest of my day with the baby either at grandma's, going for walks with the dogs (we're lucky to live on the coast), baby groups etc...I'd rather we were out doing stuff than the baby stuck in a chair watching me clean!
Weekends are spent as a family as we don't get enough time in the week cos of OH working x
I can't just sit on my bum all morning. Just isnt me....I'd have a nervous twitch knowing the dishes needed to be done or there were muddy prints on the floor....
Wow, I am pleased I have inspired people as well. Makes me feel like this:D :DI bet you all feel a little bit better, a sense of smugness, now you've cleaned don't you?;) Go on, admit it, I won't tell anyone:cool:

Why would you wash curtains every other week ? Mine have never been washed and they've been up at least 2 years ! I run the dyson over them occasionally though. My last pair were up even longer ! I can't wash mine anyway and there's no way i'd pay for them dry cleaning every other week ! They don't need it do they ? Or am i strange ?
Exactly, I must be strange too - our lounge and dining room curtains can't be washed - 3 pairs floor to ceiling (as wide as they are long) - I had them cleaned about 3 months ago at a cost of £110 and that was with a 10% discount card plus an extra 20% off as curtains were on an offer - they had been up 3 years - they used to get a vacuum now and again.
It's a major undertaking just getting them down and putting them back up - they are so heavy - OH has to do it - not something you'd want to be doing every month.0 -

Wow that is a lot all i would say is make sure it doesn't get in the way of your baby cause time goes so fast.I think your right with the kitchen and bathroom but the rest isnt going to hurt if it is left for a while, while my kids were tiny i did nothing but play with them and talk to them. yes if they are asleep i did things but when they were awake i was there. My youngest starts school in september and i don't know what i'll do without him maybe i'll have to pick up your cleaning routine;) .0 -
