whether you need it or not
    Exactly. ;)

Anyway the OH says she likes the way I smell and likes nothing more when I've got a sweat on doing some honest work.

Personally, I like it when she comes out of the bath smelling like rose petals, but we're all different :)

Haha, this thread is funny :rotfl:

PP - how on Earth did you get that cat to go in the fridge, mine wouldn't go near it in a month of Sundays, and I have a very greedy cat too! He is thick though, so the thought probably didn't occur to him :p

I'm not overly houseproud, but I don't like mess, especially other people's :p

We have quite a few aquariums dotted about the house, so spraying chemicals about frequently would not be good for their welfare. So I tend to stick to wiping down surfaces very regularly with hot water, and spraying with antibacterial sporadically. In my old house I used to spray antibac about 3 or 4 times a day in the kitchen, but it just isn't safe now we have a large fish tank in there. I am not poisoning my fish for the sake of a few largely harmless germs. Raw meat etc is always dealt with on a chopping board, then put straight in dishwasher, so that's really the only 'bad' thing that could contaminate surfaces. My cats don't go in the kitchen much as their bowls and box are elsewhere. They rarely go on the counters either, as they will get told off. Cannot abide potentially !!!!!! cat paws on kitchen surfaces  Gross!

We hoover about once a week. It would be done more frequently, but we are so busy at the moment that it's enough to get it done weekly. We have quite a large house with stone floors, so the only thing that is annoying is cat hair, but that tends to congrigate in the corners and can be hoovered up with the dustbuster. I can't hoover yet as still have SPD slightly as I'm breastfeeding, apparently the hormones are still present. I couldn't hoover when pregnant as you are not allowed to with SPD. Well, when you have 'proper' SPD anyway :p

It could probably do with a wash over, but again I am worried about chemicals, and also the slipping hazard on stone floors  When I do do it I will probably just make up a mild solution of very hot water and a little washing up liquid. Rather than the full on Dettol etc that I used to use!

Bed linen normally gets changed once a week, but it isn't the end of the world if it rolls over slightly.
I never wash curtains :rotfl: the reason being we don't have any! Well no, I tell a lie, got some in my bedroom but they've only been up 3 months so not exactly dirty, and no animals go in the bedrooms to get hair anywhere. Got some more curtains on order, but I think they are dry clean only, so they will only get washed when dirty!

Bathroom and toilet get cleaned weekly. With cleaner put down loo maybe twice a week. If we have guests coming over then I'll be daring and put an extra load down there!

Washing machine is on about 4 times a week. We have a large drum as well.

Guinea pigs get cleaned out once a week, fish tanks cleaned/water change once a week, cat's litter box once or twice a week.

The car really needs a clean, as it hasn't been cleaned since we bought it 10 weeks ago. It's not too bad though, and black always shows dirt anyway. Living in the country, I am not too fussed about it being spotless. I used to be much more regular with cleaning the car when I went out to work, but don't use it for work now so it can wait.

My OH's mother is very strict on cleaning/ironing/polishing. She irons tea towels, underwear and SOCKS. She actually offered to polish my wooden cabinet, in excitement. Pity she hasn't done it yet :rotfl: She washes up after every meal/tea break/snack etc. Whereas I get the dishwasher completely full, then put it once every other day. I think it uses more water washing up so frequently. Things like grill pans need washing by hand, and my baby's bottles I do by hand usually.

I think life is too short to be cleaning all the time. If I could do everything that Vroom does in a hour, then I would, but it is impossible. Our house is just too big to get around it and clean it to that extent every day. Plus I can't be arsed :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I HATE ironing and will only do it if some smart trousers or shirt needs doing, but then OH usually does it. We don't wear suits or anything for work, so the iron is practically brand new :rotfl:
My OH's sister and husband are clean 'freaks' as well as his mum. He washes his car every Sunday. Dunno how he finds the time.
I said to OH that if he comments that our car needs a wash again, then I will say, feel free to do it for us if you're that bothered

As long as the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms are clean, and we have clean clothes to wear and clean plates to eat off, then I don't see a problem :D

Wow, OP I'd happily pay you to come round and sort out my house!

I hoover everywhere and clean the bathroom once or twice a month (and usually only because my parents are coming round). Kitchen gets done slightly more frequestly. I dust the TV screen when I can no longer see the picture, the rest of the house gets dusted once or twice a year. Last week I tidied my side of the bedroom for the first time in at least a year.

OH does the washing up because if it was up to me, we'd eat off paper plates with disposable cutlery every night :rotfl:

I like to watch How Clean Is Your House to make myself feel better about my house being a bit grubby :o If it ever got as bad as the houses on that programme, I'd definitely step up the cleaning!

OMG OP you have a job here too. I have a 9 month old, three dogs, two cats, an OH and a part time job. I get the basics done (washing, laundry, bathroom and kitchen get a quick glance and maybe a sweep up) thats it. I simply dont have the time to do as much as you. I do get up at 4am to walk the dogs (before OH goes to work) but DS permitting I dive back in again...

s than do housework[/QUOTI would honestly much rather be playing with DS/the mutts twiddling my thumbE]

    Same here.Chuffin haaaate housework:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No..mine is thick..she sits yowling at the cat flap because she has forgotten how to use it! She got her paw stuck in it once. She got her tongue stuck to the end of her collar yesterday and she the grand old age of 3 now!

We opened the door and she bounced in! She knows that is where the ham lives.. and the cheese! and sometimes prawns... she is nothing but a furry pig!

My mothers house is like Steptoes yard.. she can't say diddly when she comes here!

This thread has encouraged me to do a good bit today. I dread to think what will happen when bubs comes along, it'l be organised chaos I'm sure.
