Well because of this thread today I have hoovered and dusted and washed and scrubbed and tidied and shredded and now have dinner on. The kids think its Christmas and my oh will think he's walked into the wrong house when he comes home.
I think I have done enough to deserve a big fat cake lol
LOL me too, kitchen is (nearly) spotless, hoovering done, bathroom cleaned.....bedroom is still a tip though!!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
tbh - I hate housework! mum tried to train me to do it right (her way), but it took too much effort! I prefer to take shortcuts and if there is an easy way to do it - then thats my chosen option! Mum doesnt believe its done 'properly' unless you are exhausted afterwards!
My OH is a bit of a neat freak - but I have learned to ignore him over the years and now he just mutters a bit about how filthy the house is (it isnt - and his mum wouldnt have won prizes for best kept home - so I dont know where he gets his uppity ideas from!), and gets the vacuum out - He also does the UPVC, and the skirting boards - but this really cracks me up - he doesnt seem to have heard of dusters!!!!!!!!!!!! it could be an inch thick and he wouldnt notice!!! lmao!
Me? I am too busy watching cooking shows and trying out recipes (he does love his food does my OH) and if I have a spare moment - then there are thousands of books out there to be read! Oh, and I have grandkids to mind - virtually a full time job! Housework is not high on my list of priorities!0 -

Did I mention I love ironing as well?:money:
(PS I am in the north east - if anyone wants a spring clean.....!)
Do you iron socks and tea towels? :rotfl:
I'm a bit far away, but if you're ever down my way, I'll have the kettle on and all the biscuits you could wantwe do the cat flap hokey-cokey too!!!!! It is almost like she expects to end up somewhere different each time she goes through the transdimensional portal.
Mine is so thick, he comes in then realises he didn't actually want to come in afterall! He will spend ages 'tapping' on the door to come in as well. Then a few minutes later he wants to go out again. We all stand by laughing at him - including my other 'normal' cat :rotfl:0 -

Mine have an upstairs window (over a roof which runs down to ground floor level). Their great joy in life when they don't feel they are the centre of attention is to get out through the window, run around to the window of which ever room I'm in downstairs and wail. I let them in, then off they go again.0 -

He'd never work out that he could go out of a window. An open door took him long enough :rotfl:0 -
Mine taps the cat portal.. that is how she got her paw stuck..she pushed it in then tried pulling it out and the corner of the door stuck between the pads on her foot so she was growling and hissing. she puts her head through as well when it is raining.. so her ears are dry but the rest of her is still outside in the rain. She went out and rolled in a puddle on Monday then growled at everyone because she was wet!!
She is getting more stupid as she gets older too which is quite worrying!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I like to watch How Clean Is Your House to make myself feel better about my house being a bit grubby
If it ever got as bad as the houses on that programme, I'd definitely step up the cleaning!
Haha! I love watching it too or exactly the same reason :rotfl::T
I am crap at housework - hoover/polish once a week, empty and refill the dishwasher when we run out of plates & cups, same for washing machine & clothes. Washed the curtains about 6 mths ago and couldn't be arsed putting them back up so they are currently in the bottom of the wardrobe (I have blinds too so can close them at night) Bathroom gets done when it starts to become a health hazard.
I have excelled myself today and cleaned the blinds - first time since I got them 4 years ago - I was cursing after 5 mins - what a crap job! Took me nearly 2 hours!
I have a very messy DS, one very hairy, moulty dog, and two cats - one longhaired, who likes to come in at night covered in rain, mud, stickybobs, twigs, slugs etc and settle on my bed to clean himself - leaving behind a pile of yuk and cat hair.... but I only change the sheets fortnightly
Both DS & I have excellent immune systems :DI don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

My cat climbs in the living room window (a good 8ft off the ground outside, it's just a little top window) by jumping on to the frame at the bottom of the opening from OH's plastic greenhouse and then runs down the sofa...
Kitten tried to copy her and is almost there except he ended up stuck on top of the window as it opens outwards :rotfl::rotfl:and was there for ages, no one could reach him so he had to jump, ended up in the hanging basket:rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

a baby wakes at 5:30..it is fed and stuffed back in bed! *shudder*
I used to look forward to mine waking me up early - as I'd feed them and then snuggle them into bed with me for as long as I could.
I've had many, many hours of cuddles in bed with my kids of a morning over the years (still do - it's the first place they come to when they wake up) and I wouldnt trade a single one of them to hoover or mop anything."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0
