cleanliness

I'll be the first to admit I have slight OCD when it comes to cleaning, even more so since I had my son. Just wondered what every one else thought and what their routines were?

I polish, wipe and dust every surface in the living room, dining room and kitchen every day, as well as hoovering and mopping the wooden floors. The bathroom gets bleached and floor mopped every day. Our room and the baby's room get hoovered as well. Back yard is scrubbed with disinfectant every day as well.

Bedding gets washed and ironed every few days as well. Curtains get washed every other month, as do the the blinds:eek:

The baby is dressed in fresh clothes every day and fresh pjs at night.

We have two dogs and rabbits/guinea pigs outside and I'm paranoid about the house smelling:eek: but also I'm very houseproud and think there is no excuse for a mucky house!! x

I also have OCD. I do the above every day, except for disinfecting the back yard. I make DH pressure wash it every other week. Also when I am mopping I clean the scerting. As well as wiping the light switches with a flash wipe, and the toilet seat every day!

I make sure every one has clean clothes on daily, and clean pj's/nighty every night.

Wash the curtains every other week, wash the throws every week, and I fabreze every where daily/every 2 days.

Hoover/mop/dust downstairs daily. upstairs every 2 days. Flash wipe the kids beds every 2 days, and Hoovers theirs/mine mattresses weekly on bed change.

    Change the bedding weekly.

I am very house proud too, I don't see no excuse why people can't keep on top of it. I also work.

Oh and fresh flowers on the go weekly, I love lilies.

We have 2 dogs, 6 chickens, 11 carp, and 3 other species of fish, and I too get paranoid. :)

If anything is out of it's place, I get really anxious, and either cry or scream at them!

But you should see my car, You would never of thought!! lol

  • I work full time, house get dusted when I have the time (Its non essential to me) as I would rather make sure all the washing and ironing are done for next weeks shifts. Vacuuming when needed, the kitchen floor gets a once over every weekened or more often if something is spilled on the floor. I have three gardens to maintain as well as an alottment, so housework is wayyyyyy down my list TBH.

We dont live in a pig sty but I will not, and have never ever been a slave to housework. Lifes to short to be tied to cleaning.....Every one has their own routine and theie own way of doing things, and if it works for them then thats just fine. My MIL is 'uptight' about housework too, but thats her way and I respect her for it, just as long as she doesnt expect me to conform!!!! :)

You obviously went to the same finishing school as me, I find once the dust is a certain depth it doesnt get any thicker. ;)

I work full time, have 2 kids and dont have a partner, so by the time i've got home, had a bath, made tea, fed the dog, washed the dishes and made packed lunches It's 10pm and I'm beat!

I catch up at the weekend, but I dont go nuts - hoover, dust, washing and tidy up.

.....I get little enough free time. Life is for living, not cleaning.

I would say that I am houseproud to a certain extent but no way would I do what the OP does every day. I wouldnt be able to find the time to do all that even if I was so inclined, which I am not. I think once a week is enough apart from bathrooms and kitchens which need some cleaning every day if possible.
