Had chills down my spine reading what happened - thank god you trusted your instincts.
I took my 12 year old to gp without an appointment in March saying I would wait for hours if neccessary but i wanted my mind put at rest as she has a severe pain in her right side. When the gp saw her and examined her (very gently) She said "B****** do you know what your appendix is?"
She was admitted to hospital straight away and her appendix was removed the next morning."This site is addictive!"

(((rchdapp1))) - so glad that Lily is returning to her normal self.
DH and I were supposed to be going for a walk today at Rutland Water, but it's tipping it down with rain here AND at Rutland Water. If this was the Lake District then we'd be out anyway, but it doesn't make for a nice day round these parts.
Instead, we've booked tickets to go and see Casino Royale........ yes, I know that everyone else saw it weeks ago, but we've only just been able to find the time to go!
We too watched Swap Shop last night. DH was complaining that there was "nothing on" tv, but I was rivetted. He eventually gave in and watched it with me. It brought back so many memories.......... although I wasn't old enough for Swap Shop, I did watch all the other Saturday morning programmes.
Actually, DH is - gasp - reading a book. A rugby player has his autobiography out and I'd dismissed it because I didn't particularly like the bloke. However, my dad gave me the book for Christmas and I'm now a huge fan because he's had quite a sad existence with bouts of depression that I can relate to. I stormed through the book and DH is now reading it (his last book read was The Da Vinci Code, he likes easy reads).
Anyway, I'd better go for now. Not sure what we're having for lunch, but there's plenty in the fridge to go at. Supper tonight will be sausage and mash, but I need to get the sausages out of the freezer. MUST remember!
Bye

I am cheesed off!!!
Needed to go to the bank to transfer money around ready for newly financially organised ME for 2007 but had a day chocka of clients so rather than try and get into the city, parked etc to go to the various banks and risk being late for the next client, I did a CHAPS payment over the phone which cost me £25. Thought it would be worth it as a stress free one off.
Then lo and behold my 10am client didn't materialise so not only have I lost the £30 from the client that I was expecting, I could have got into the city afterall. So, therefore, so far this morning I am essentially £55 worse off than I could have been.

(((((hugs))))) rchdapp1 and Lily and OH What a terrible time you have had! So glad Lily is getting better and will keep her in my prayers. Well done for acting on your instincts doctors really should take more notice of Mums as we know our children the best.
Hope all those still poorly start to feel better soon. (((hugs))) Snowy! My rotten cold is now just a rotten cough! Still it stopped me overeating over Christmas! So a silver lining!
Have been popping lots of food into the freezer so Januarys food bill should be fairly low.

rchdapp - hugs to you.
I was sitting moaning about DS making inane noises all over the house at the top of his voice. But after reading your post I'm quite happy to hear him. It puts things into perspective. Take care of your little family.
Got to go to the supermarket today - it can be put off no longer.
Going to see if I can get monkfish anywhere. Fancy fish for tea. Then Mum and dad are taking us out for tapas tomorrow. Mmmm. (Need to really clean the house today - mum might as well have Anthea's glove on!)
Off to rescue dad from the children.

Morning everyone
rchddap1 - I can only imagine what you have been through lately, I have two little ones and would always trust my instict over the say of a gp. We know our kids better than anyone. I wish you all the best:grouphug:
I am currently looking into changing GP's after an encounter with a particularly arrogant one. We went yesterday as my OH has a lump on his back and the doctor was so rude and dismissed us within 90 seconds. As far as I am concerned a lump is a lump and after losing two members of the family to cancer in the last two years we wanted to get it checked out. Gp says straight away it is just a cyst, then he asks OH what did he think it was, oh said he didn't know and the gp said to him normally before people get here they have spoken to just about everyone else in town about it so already think they know what it is!  Anyway whinge over
Weather here is horrible and we all have the snivels so not much on today.
We had a busy day yesterday we took kids bowling and out to lunch (burger king def not recommended) and last night we got a babysitter and had a lovely night at oh's aunt and uncles house.
Today I am going to sort out new budget for this year and write myself a list of new years resolutions to keep in my purse.... I dont know why but I do love my lists!!! I write jobs lists out that take so long I could have done all the jobs on there twice over!
I am also going to attempt later on to make some baby born clothes for my dd:eek:  God knows what they will turn out like.
Best pop off for now
Hope everyone who is not 100% is feeling better soon
