Good morning Aussielass, my patience is being tested, all I seem to do is follow her and run to the door, she has terrible wind at the moment too, ewww!! pongy!!! and the weather here happens to be blooming awful (in fact my door is leaking) so it's cold in here with all the windows open. Might buy some oils to help with that, not used to the whole puppy thing. I think it'll be easier when the boys are back to school with training etc. She's asleep now with my older dog, they look so cute.
Well done moggins, something I have never tried before, might have to give it a go, any tips ?One day I might be more organised...........

Lil me I don't know what to suggest. Whenever I've had to toilet train our dogs (the two we have now are inside/outdoor) ones I've just taken them outside heaps of times to do their business & eventually they go on their own. We have a little doggy door in our back screen and when they were older they used it. But if the weather is awful, it's a bit hard to do that. Can you set up something like a cat litter tray.
:D Getting dog wee out the carpet is a nightmare. Everytime it get's damp & wet weather (which would be often over there
) it smells again and the dog will keep going back to it. *shudders* brings back memories of puppy training.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Thankfully we're all hard floors downstairs apart from the piece of carpet I have given them to sleep on (older dog is actually a sod and rips up dog beds) so that can be thrown when it's too pongy and have a spare bit for after that.
She seems to like the downstairs loo floor, probably as that is where we go, so making sure I keep it smell free and going to try to stop all the family using it (I remember my Dads old dog doing the same thing and that worked) I keep standing outside with her all the time, inc in my PJs and dressing gown late at night whilst freezing, going OTT praising her when she poops outside (which of course I still have to clean up) !
Every time she runs I do too, I probably look like a right looney. I am not used to having such a young pup, we got my other almost housetrained (7 month) apart from being ill when we got him for the first few days thanks to the previous owners feeding him badly, so this and the smell is all new to me!One day I might be more organised...........

grannybroon wrote:DLB - I gave up smoking 4 years ago - I was really heavy. DH gave up about 8 years ago. The thought of grandchildren was the incentive and we were really feeling guilty about the passive smoking both our kids did years ago. Not easy but I used patches and then a bit of nicotine gum.
We had DGSs here for a sleepover (left a wee while ago) and I know if I was still a smoker DD wouldn't have been happy if the boys went home smelling of smoke.
An added bonus - you don't need to decorate so often and the house really does smell better. Any visitor to our house just goes outside (DS included) as they know we don't want the house smelly for the boys.
Good luck - I know you can do it!
Well done, you can get tobacco coloured paint instead!:DAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
