Wow what a daily thread this one has been. Sat down with a wee vino to have a quick catch up and that was over an hour ago:eek: (and 2 vinos ago:D )

Anyway like some of the others have said I wasnt going to post but because of the heart rending story from rachddap1 I felt I must. Massive hugs to you and your family and I hope as Lilly gets stronger and stronger you will be able to enjoy a new year with the best of reasons to celebrate.

DlB One year 8 months for me now and its the best thing I ever did. Like Math I would agree that it not happen easily for me and I dont believe there is a magic button except your stoic determination never to smoke again. I did find amateur savers thread massively helpful though when it got tough - have a read theres some real good stuff on here

I noticed the beard has gone, oh shame that lol someone must have bought him a new razor for Christmas.

Puppy I am sure we will get there with, just take time and patience, something I have been lacking as another person who is trying to quit smoking! Started her jabs again as were unsure if she had been fully vaccinated as was no certificate so for now she is staying in, 3 weeks before she can go out.

We did have a giggle with her today, I slipped with a tin of tuna spilling some juices on her and she has been trying to eat herself since lol Will bath her later as I hate the smell of tuna and it's lingering ewww!!
One day I might be more organised...........

Am very pleased with myself today. Parked OK when I went into town for hairdressers and had a look round the sales. Did buy myself a calendar for £2.50 (half price) so that was OS but didnt buy anything else. Did look like a lot of old tut admittedly but in the old days would have bought stuff anyway.

Have rather bouffant hair but hopefully it will be a bit flatter in the morning.
Early start tomorrow as need to drop DD at stables then will be ironing in front of the telly. Must remember to get some steak out of the freezer tom as planning beef stroganoff to use up some of the Xmas cream, need to have lots of creamy coffees also.

Off now am going to play Simpsons Operation with the kids.

This bug started for me on Christmas Eve so I am over the worse now too.
I also found the gasping for breath bit difficult but put the electric fan on (ours is on standby anyway for those tropical moments us mature ladies get!;) ) the fan just blows the air towards you making it so much easier to breath. Hope this helps!

Catznine, thanks for this brilliant tip! Happening much less now, but I've just logged on again and read your post, just as another "puffy" spell is starting. It works!:D Wish I'd known this earlier, but it's one I won't forget.

  • Have just cooked up a batch of sausages, spuds and sprouts - meant to eat one portion and keep three as "ready meals" but ended up eating two  and the sprouts are already repeating on me :o - it didn't help that they were still rock solid - haven't quite got the hang of using my new steamer pan over a pan of spuds while trying not to let the spuds boil over :o

Did anybody watch the prog on BBC2 about the history of University Challenge? The man who was talking about losing his heat of the "Professionals" series, by buzzing in too early on the tie-break, is a friend of mine - I didn't know he was going to feature in this documentary show...

    Hiya,

Just woken and having my morning cuppa. Washing is on so will have to wait around to hang it up before I head off to w**k at the house. How odd, the cycle seems to going for ages. :D

Well thanks for all the advice CM, Rzl & Nelski. I'll make sure I pack my shorts for certain.:D Looks like I was too hasty in buying new trousers.

Rzl The chocolate body cream sounds divine. Never heard of it.

Lilme Toilet training puppy. Yuk........awful job. Hope you have huge doses of patience.
