Forgot to say... HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOOPYLOULOU :D

Hurrah! The bins did indeed get emptied this morning - so I promptly filled them up again (a bit) with all my flatpack packaging. One of my top priorities for the New Year is to find out whether there's somewhere I can take packing-type cardboard for recycling - but I really couldn't hold onto everything indefinitely, as my flat really isn't very big and there aren't any cupboards to hide it in!

Just got back from Borough Market where I splashed out on some decent cheese and pate, which - because I've barely left the flat this week and therefore not even broken into my grocery/spending money for the week -I could easily afford for once. The Borough pate stall (www.patchwork-pate.co.uk) is closing down after tomorrow :(:( because of a decision by the Market's trustees! - so I bought three different ones. They come frozen and will keep for months in the freezer, though I think I'll defrost one today to eat on toast over the weekend as a New Year treat.

Also treated myself to a steak sandwich and a cup of mulled cider for my lunch, picked up my hi-fi cables from Richer Sounds, and then had a browse of the sales in the little shops on Hays Galleria where I made two "finds" - a pair of cosy winter boots for £25, and in Next, a gift set of some slippers and some chocolate body cream for £5 (slippers were one of the things on my "must find" list for the sales this year, so I was pleased to get some nice ones for that price!)

chickadee - :rotfl: at the thought of you chasing the binmen :D

I think my voice is on its way back. I really hope so, as I'll need to decide by tomorrow morning whether to phone the church organist and say I'll be unable to sing on Sunday morning.

    Rzl xx

Good Evening All - Hope we are well

I finally got thru to the Birmingham Childrens Hospital ref my son (details in this morning post), they are slightly concerned that the bone implant may have dis-lodged itself, and asked for us to come over on Thurs 4th Jan, he will see us as an emergency between 2.00pm & 4.30pm. Which I thought was brill. Otherwise I could have waitied for a few months for a normal appt. In the meantime, he's just got to be carefull with the foods he eats (ie no sharp bits) and rinse his mouth regular with Corsodyl mouthwash. Finger's crossed that he'll be ok till next wk.

Had a good day at work. I managed to !!!! up the system just before I finished. Everyone else was able to use their system - but not me - SHAME! lol

OH finished work early again, so Had to fetch him when I finished. Then went into Town to pay the bills, had a mooch round the sales, but nothing really took my fancy. Then stocked up for the month on pet food.

OH also told me the guy who brought his car turned up at 2.45am to collect it. I never heard a thing, sorry to DLB if you heard. Still its gone now, and my drive looks sooooo much better with just my car on there.

Ok, gonna shoot off now and feed the animals.
    Take care
Have a lovely evening -love as usual xxx

There is not much anyone can say to us. Just keep your eyes on them babes and don't be afraid to do what we did.

GP would have killed Lily if we'd listened / trusted her!

Hugs to you and yours Rchddap1. I had meningitis at 6 weeks and it took days beofre my mum could get anyone to take her seriously. i saw my medical records a few years back and the doctor had written "over protective mother - possibly neurotic?" on my notes. No lasting damage at all so hopefully it will be the same for Lily :)

First day back at work today and am tired tired tired after five days at Crisis Open Christmas. Great fun though and have met some brilliant people. Am going to do it again next week if ex will have kids again. We are having christmas this weekend so i am still in panics while the rest of you are relaxing!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Snowy, sorry to hear you're poorly. Think you're about a week behind me, afraid it will get worse before it gets better!! Yeah I've done the bit where you sound like you're a 50 a day girl. It was the gasping for breath that really did for me. Anyway keep warm and just wait for it to pass, there really isn't much else you can do.

This bug started for me on Christmas Eve so I am over the worse now too.
I also found the gasping for breath bit difficult but put the electric fan on (ours is on standby anyway for those tropical moments us mature ladies get!;) ) the fan just blows the air towards you making it so much easier to breath. Hope this helps!

I keep thinking about baby Lily, OH has just asked about her too! We are both sending positive thoughts her way (((Hugs)))

(((hugs))) to Joannas Mum as well.

Evening all, grabbing the little PC time I can.

    Happy Birthday Loopyloulou

Pleased to hear little Lily is better, so worrying when a child is poorly, thinking of you all :)

Chaos still here, had another clear out of the rubbish that toys come in today, too much plastic and nowhere to recycle it. Boys rooms now much tidier but both need a good clear out. Bins been emptied yesterday and almost full again, roll on Wednesday for the next lot.

Puppy keeping me on my toes, toilet training becoming a nightmare as she seems to have decided she is too posh to piddle/poop outside and would rather use our toilet floor! Bicarb is a godsend right now to clear the odours generated with a small puppy, need to find somewhere to buy in bulk & cheaper than supercooks!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, fingers crossed those with bugs feel better soon, snotty all round here so I know how you feel :) Must admit the fan is getting use here, along with the karvol type stuff.

Bargain Rzl have sent you a PM, I think it's right for your area :)
One day I might be more organised...........
