My store has just been replenished after a trip to Aldi - I now have other stuff for dinners and lunches as well as little snackettes:) Dare I say it but I also bought a collapsible washing up bowl as I have wanted one for yonks but they have always been too expensive - this will get used when I go camping. I even got a bag of cheap marzipan eggs - I am loving the post- Easter choc bargains:D

Spoke to mum last night - she has spoken to the agents about the house in relation to the carpets and it appears that a mistake has been made as several of their employees told us the carpets were included and when mum met one of the executors she only made reference to the furniture and white goods being for sale and didnt mention the carpets. Mum has now revised her offer after initially following my instructions to rip the wretched things out and making the floor good, she has submitted a higher offer to include the carpets. The agents are getting rather miffed that the whole thing is taking so long so mum pointed out to them that our solicitor had been waiting for papers since the beginning of March and there was still no sign of them:mad: Mum had rung the agents after I saw the for sale board back up at the house and told the agents how distraught I was (true, I was quite distraut and madder than a cut snake). So now we wait some more....

I had a bit of a shock last night - I was watching Beautiful Minds on BBC4 about Professor Clack now I used to have a teacher at middle school called Mr Clack (affectionately known as Clacketty Clack:D), he wasnt there for very long as he moved with his wife to Newcastle...could this really be the same person? Turns out that it was when a picture of him in his younger days was flashed on the screen...his wife eventually became a professor. I cannot remember what subject Mr Clack taught me but do remember his interest in fossils as he helped me identify fossils in my own collection and if I found a new rock with one in, I would take it to school and show it to him.

Last night I went out to a business networking event and found myself re-elected as Secretary, I had said that I wanted to step down but no-one else volunteered so I elected to stay on. Thankfully the committee is now a bit bigger which means the load is shared by many and not shouldered mainly by me.

This morning my Virgin TV box packed up, I could not change channels after stupidly leaving it on BBC4 last night so I followed the rigmarole of checking cables, switching it on and off as well as unplugging it - now the thing is dead:mad: Virgin are coming out tomorrow with a replacement box so hopefully I will get a better one as the one I have is old and tired as it kept dropping the signal.

I have to type more minutes and circulate them today as well as circulating the previous minutes as these will be discussed at the committee meeting on Tuesday night.

Wow wee such service from Virgin Media - my digibox died and I booked a service call for between 10-12 today and the man has just been and replaced my box and told me how the new remote works.

Must admit that I missed having the tv last night as I missed Grey's Anatomy so will have to look out for that as a repeat. I was in bed by 9pm reading a book before falling asleep.

So far today I have set a beef stew to cook in Sloth, emptied the bins (now that I can fit my bin bag in the commercial bins downstairs). My tv is starting to work...then I can start to play. It would appear that I have a TIVO box but have no real idea of what that is but think that I can now watch HD channels.

My mailbox was full of junk but I received a package from someone I know who makes soap (I have previously won a hamper of soap from his website) - in the package was a kindly letter apologising for the experience I have had with UW and although I am moving away from UW he sent me a piggy shaped soap anyway:cool: A piggy shaped soap will make a lovely little present for someone.

The job hunt continues and the minutes need to be typed and circulated.

yay to getting a TIVO box Horace :T are they going to charge you extra for it.

Virgin offered me a TIVO box when they came out and told me I had to pay £50 for the privilege and then the monthly payments. So I said no thanks and got an HD box that I can record programmes on instead.

With TIVO you can record :) no more missing Greys Anatomy and you should be able to find it on catch up I think?

It is a replacement for my old telewest box. Although if I find I have to pay for it, then it will be whipped out as soon as anything. No one mentioned additional charges to me. I never asked for a TIVO box, I was told I needed a new box as the old one was as dead as a dodo and I was expecting something the same or very similar.

Actually looking at the box compared to the one in the pic in the link you gave me Aesop, I think I just have a standard HD box instead because it looks nothing like the one in the picture. Let's see what happens seeing as it has catch up TV - wonder if I can access Grey's Anatomy?

I spent a large amount of time yesterday away from the computer sorting stuff out to take to the valuation day. I have a load of glassware to go including a Victorian Lemonade Set - I may as well get some money for it as it cost me very little from a charity shop. I will have a boot full of stuff and have decided to part with the piece of chinese silk that I was given after MIL died as I found it in her belongings and was told that I could keep it. I have never had it framed and it just sits there doing nothing so I may as well get something for it as it was valued at around £60-80:eek:

I had some papers come through from the court to say that the case for a divorce has been proven by two years' separation and that a hearing will take place on 21 May with regard to costs. I would like to attend this hearing if at all possible although it is not necessary - partly out or curiosity and partly because I want to be sure that I will get some money out of the scoundrel because I must have something to show for 25 years of marriage surely?

This morning I went to the post office for some stamps spending nearly £19 on them - I now have 3 books each containg 12 second class stamps and a book of 12 first class stamps. I also nipped into LLoyds TSB and came away with some leaflets about savings accounts - I am hoping to open an account with them and my parents have been Lloyds customers for over 50 years.

Today is signing day, going to the postbox with my cousin's birthday card and searching for jobs day.
