I could cry - Mum has just phoned and said that she would give me money to clear my overdraft but I think that I managed to appease her. I hate debt and hate living in the overdraft and don't want to go cap in hand to my parents - I feel lousy enough as it is. I am desperately trying to save and trying hard to get a job.
Sometimes life just sucks!0 -

Horace - you are one lucky person to have such a wonderful Mum and Dad.
Having said that I understand completely how you feel about taking them up on their offer. Just remember, they want to see you happy and settled.
You visit your parents and take your Mum out and about - a lot of people wouldn't do that nowadays - they would just take, take, take.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
I feel as though I am taking all the time - I have a lot to make up because I went for years without really bothering about either of them:o I guess I am proud too because I got myself into this mess by spending all my rainy day money so I have nothing to fall back on, I shall do what I can to get out of that mess.
Mum says that she is sick with worry but then I am too as demonstrated by my eye disease that has reappeared for the first time since 2007:( One hopes that the court awards me some money during my divorce - how I do wish that I hadnt written them a letter although since that letter I have asked for a lump sum as we are unable to agree. A lump sum would buy stuff like a newer car (much needed) and some decent furniture and other things.
They are trying to buy a house so that I can be settled, I will be so glad when I don't have rent to pay. The house saga continues - I cannot understand why the vendors have to be so pedantic about the ruddy carpets. I think they are narked because my parents reduced their offer anyway when it was discovered that the place needed new lintels and windows - they accepted the reduced offer and now they are trying to get more money for some old carpets.
Anyway, I made myself a reasonable dinner in Sloth..using up some leftover tinned tomatoes, half an onion and some whoopsie shelf meatballs - I chucked in some tagliatelle towards the end and had this for dinner tonight, I also have leftovers.
I shall be looking at instant access savings accounts as well because I want somewhere to put the auction money, I need to try and save, I will then use some of the money on my OD but not all of it.0 -
Today is another day, the sun is out at least although rain and thunder are forecast for later today, mustn't grumble as the ground needs the water.
I have sent an email to an employer who rejected me - I doubt they even looked at my application considering their HR dept told me that they had over 100 applications for the post, so there was no careful consideration! Anyway I have asked pertinent questions about age and disability because I feel that I have been rejected on those grounds because there can be no other sensible explanation as to why someone who fitted the person spec exactly by meeting all the essentials and the desirables could be rejected! This is part of my fightback because I don't want to be fobbed off with some petty excuse.
I have two applications to complete today - one is for a part time 20hr a week job and the other is a full time job. I shall continue to look for work and apply and when I see the advisor at the jobcentre on Monday (my normal signing day is Friday but they are too busy) then I will ask about work trials and how to get on one.
I shall try not to fret about the house too although that will be hard, what will be will be.0 -
I am in the process of completing two application forms but as I am doing them online, I am having a break from them whilst I gather my thoughts. One job is on a guaranteed interview scheme so I am ensuring that I fit and will be asked for interview.
I received a payment from Pyne Kone today and that has been withdrawn along with the £3 I withdrew yesterday into my FD account so that is £6 that has gone in there. I know that I am still in my OD but not as much as my HB cheque went in as well as my JSA with more JSA and more HB due to go in.
Slowly the debt reduces....
Lunch today is corned beef sandwich and dinner will be jacket spud with cheese.0 -

Oh well, I got my feedback and I lost out as only 6 are being interviewed for the job. Still, it is their loss because I could have walked to work and been a hardworking and loyal employee.
Someone I know on FB works for a recruitment agency - mainly specialising in engineers but she has advertised two admin/customer service jobs that I have asked about and how to apply for them (alas I do not have the recruitment company's details nor do I have her details (I probably do amongst the 2000 or so business cards in my collection:eek:).
By hook or by crook I will find something.0
