Thanks Beanie - I will have a look.
Feeling meh today - I had another bad night's sleep waking at 4am and then blow me my ruddy alarm goes off at 7am when I had forgotten to switch it off yesterday. I eventually dragged myself out of bed at 9am.
This morning I have chopped up and defatted two lamb steaks and they are now in Sloth (slow cooker) with homemade lamb stock, carrots and onions.
The weather here is awful - it was blowing a blizzard when I got up and it is still snowing although the flakes are small.
Spoke to mum last night and she has decided against going to brum this week as she is behind with her chores. We also chatted about the house and how she is seriously thinking of pulling out because the vendors are taking soooo long. It has been over 6 weeks now and no decisions have been made by them. I said that I looked up their solicitors on the internet and found that the branch they are using has one solicitor and the rest of the staff seem to be secretaries so we are now wondering if all paperwork has to be sent to head office to be looked over thus taking even more time. We are going to set a deadline and if that passes then we will be looking for somewhere else and I will have to suffer the stress of living in this freezing cold flat for a while longer:(0 -
Hey Horace,
Sorry you're feeling meh, have a little snooze if you need to relax a little more...
Your lamb sounds delicous!
I have everything crossed the vendors get their a*se into gear, we were all so excited for you to move into that house and it sounds so perfect. Hopefully the weather will pick up soon so you're not so coldSantander 0% £1,529.94

I switched the computer off before lunch yesterday and spent the afternoon on the sofa watching dodgy tv.
The lamb stew was gorgeous and I have boxed some up and it is in the freezer, I am reheating the remainder to have for dinner tonight.
I am now incensed about the house as is Mum, she has just phoned me to say that one of the executors phoned the agents yesterday and was quite rude telling them that they were ripping out the carpets and that they wanted the house to be re-marketed:mad: The agents have spoken to Mum today and Mum has said she has been very fair because she has been an executor in the past and knows what a sensitive time it is. The price was reduced because the house has no lintels and these need to be done because there is damage to the building fabric. There is also a problem with the roof but Mum hasn't mentioned that in the offer. The agent agreed that the market is very slow at the moment and the house is unlikely to shift. Mum is arranging a viewing of another house in a nearby road - a house that has 3 bedrooms not two, a house that also has a garage and a fully fitted kitchen for Saturday because she will not be messed about.
I am incensed with these vendors who have been dragging their heels for ages - currently 6 weeks with no sign of agreement:mad: To say that they will rip the carpets out is nuts because a) it is extra cost and second hand carpets are worthless.
I am off to see the health trainer today - he did not give me any diary sheets so I haven't written down my food intake but he will be pleased to hear that I have been eating breakfast every day for the past 3 weeks:j0 -
grrr to the house sellers Horace. If they are holding out for more money, they won't get it.
never mind, maybe this other house is more perfect for you.0 -
These venders take my breath away with their sheer stupidity TBH.

Back from the health trainers - I have put on 2lbs in weight:mad: despite eating properly, however, I have lost inches. So I am back in 4 weeks and now I have more diary sheets to complete.
Just had a wierd call from Mum - I think she is confuddled, demanding to know who she was speaking to and saying that she had the wrong number - I ended up shouting that she was speaking to me, turns out she hadnt meant to ring me but she told me to look online at this other house.
The house has two beds not three as I first thought and it looks pleasant enough and well looked after. I need to find out what a condensing boiler is because although it has radiators the hob is electric and there is a smart electric fire on the wall in the lounge (although this could be like mum's as she has a smart electric heater in her rear lounge but has gas central heating). It doesnt have a pantry though:( but it has a garage - I am sick of my car being parked outside as despite cleaning it (when I can be bothered to lug buckets up and down stairs) it seems to have moss growing on it from all the dust we have around here. A garage would keep it frost free too.
I am really annoyed with the vendors - they won't get more money as they are selling in a very slow market. Hex and pox on them:rotfl:0 -
Well I am just off the phone to mum - she & dad are going to drive up to see the house on Heronswood and they have made an appointment to view it on Tuesday. The agents came back to Mum to confirm the viewing and she was told that the vendor of Shepley Rd wants the weekend to think about things. Regardless Mum & Dad are still going to keep the appointment to view Heronswood and they are going to put an offer in if they think it suitable. The Heronswood house has tenants in it at the mo because the vendor couldnt sell it but they can soon vacate. I have seen pictures of the interior of the house and am well impressed, the rooms are also bigger than the house at Shepley Rd plus it has a gorgeous outlook.0

Hey
Well done for eating breakfast and losing inches, sometimes the weight loss takes a week or two to follow I find but its more important you eat right.
What a palava on the house, whatever happens I hope it works out for you...Santander 0% £1,529.94

Feeling meh due to the wet weather - every bone that I have broken (now healed) aches. Mustn't grumble though as the rain is much needed.
I have managed to get myself overdrawn at the bank - waiting for my JSA to go in and waiting for some housing benefit to come in - will I ever get out of that poxy overdraft?
I had to withdraw £30 today - £10 for food and £20 for petrol, the light is flashing and I don't want to be without in case I have an emergency trip to make.
Off to view a house this afternoon - it has only just come onto the market today so no sign board up and no details of room sizes etc. Am off to see my parents tomorrow for lunch and mum has said that they have received more papers from the solicitor. We have to wait until Tuesday to hear the vendor's decision over the house that we are trying to buy. One hopes that he sees sense because I have spoken to other estate agents today and they are all saying that the market is slow - some houses staying on the market for months which have to be reduced in price. One house I had thought about looking at was originally on the market for £130K, reduced to £125K and now to £115K - however, I did a drive past and the shared path looks dangerous so it isnt even worth a look because I don't want to break my neck on that pathway.0
