Jeepers what a day and it is only 11.49am:eek:

So far I have done a load of washing which I need to fish out of the machine and hang on the airer. I have also bagged up one bag of rubbish with another to be done and both taken to the bin.

I have sorted out some DVDs which I plan to get rid of and have toyed with the idea of getting rid of my mobile which is currently on contract - I stopped using the phone last month and just pay the contract which expires in June. Would I be able to get rid now or should I wait until the contract expires? I have my PAYG mobile still which is a different number.

A birthday card has been written and I need to post it - using my last remaining first class stamp. I must soak the un-franked stamps that the universe sent me so that I can use them on my own letters.

Need to spend time with my computer - deleting stuff because it crashed earlier and I caught a glimpse of a message saying out of disk space:eek:

Part way through an online application form - I noticed that they have asked the same question twice. I notice that they are asking for three referees and I only have two so two they shall have.

Just bunged Sloth on as he is still full of meatballs and pasta so that will be dinner tonight.

If you try to cancel your contract now, they will charge you the unpaid months, better to just let it expire in June.

Aesop, I am letting the contract expire naturally - I am just wondering if I can sell the handset itself?

I am still battling with this online application although I have nearly finished it. What is annoying is that I have to provide details of 3 referees and I only have 2. I have had to state that I do not have another referee so that I can progress with the form. I am going for an administrator's job not Chief Exec! I won't approach my last real employer for a reference - I very much doubt that they would provide one anyway considering the Employment Tribunal that I took them to. I never have asked them for a reference and never will. Mind you, I have just had a thought - I may ask one of my friends who was also a former colleague to see if she will give me a character reference....good thinking Horace...(amazed I have only just thought of it..doh).

Off to see my parents in while but first I must find some lunch - probably a scrap of cheese seeing as I have no bread but I do have crackers.

I have spent the morning looking for work and have earmarked some jobs to apply for later on today - one will be a speculative enquiry and the other will be an actual application for a rather posh shop:cool:

I am getting more scared as I need to service the car get it MOTd next month and taxed and insured in June and July. This being without money is crucifying me:mad:

I came home with a food parcel containing, some bacon, 4 chicken breasts, a pork fillet, a lamb steak, 4 homemade cakes, a homemade apple pie, a bag of fresh pears (from store), 2 bags of steamable veg and a very old M&S lasagne. I was also loaned 3 magazines and given £120 for food and petrol.

I was also asked to view a house from the outside which is in the same road as the one that mum is trying to buy. This house is fully refurbished and bigger with its own off road parking. I drove past the house that we have the offer in on and was incensed to discover that it was now for sale:mad: I rang mum with the news when I got home - she is as incensed as me and she will be speaking to the agent tomorrow because they never mentioned any of this when she spoke to them last Thursday. Their website states that the house is under offer though. One wonders what is going through the vendor's mind especially as there is an offer on the table and a cash buyer with no chain.

We had a mooch in the garage too as Mum found a box of light fittings the other day - one very similar to the one I sold at auction, however, it needs a plain pane of glass (we are going to get one cut to size so it fits), this one is square as opposed to round. We have also got some wall fittings for candles - one is a double one with two arms and we have two singles, plus another pair of wall fittings. All of these are heavy brass and all came from my aunt. I found my ancient skipping rope too as this was lying in a box of crocks.

I have been to see my advisor at the jobcentre and she has confirmed once again that I am doing everything I should be doing and more. She did point me in the direction of 3 jobs which I am applying for - one I have already submitted my CV today because when I looked online it only asked me to contact the jobcentre yet on their system it gave the contact details so it has gone whizzing across.

I have two others to apply for today although one is annoying because they ask what my salary expectation is and I never really know what to put because I don't know what they are offering.

shame they don't reward you for being a star when it comes to job searching, even some food vouchers would be good.

just put what kind of salary you are looking for, if you can guesstimate the type the job may offer, ie £14000, or the bare minimum you could survive on, ie £16,000 or £20,000.

no harm, and maybe they will still call you for an interview and say actually it is a lot lower but it gives you the choice to refuse if you get the job.

Thanks Aesop - I think the minimum I could survive on is £16K anything lower would be a real struggle.

I still have my £15 Tatco voucher that a kindly person sent me that I have yet to spend. I haven't yet decided if it will go on food or towards a new Ping as my current Ping is getting old and tired as he has been overused.

Anyway I am still smiling - I will nip out later to go and get bread and more sustenance, dinner tonight will be the ancient lasagne that mum found in her freezer.
