I boobed today I thought my appointment with Remploy was today when it was tomorrow. Despite making this silly mistake (blame my astigmatism) I was able to register with them, things are a lot more proactive and they ensure that my disabilities are catered for when I get a job. They will help me find work as they work with many companies eg. John Lewis, Waitrose to name but a few. I was tipped off that they will be starting something with Messrs Marks & Spencer whereby I would spend a little time in each department to get a taste for them and there is the possibility of employment at the end:j
Am supposed to be seeing someone this afternoon but really don't feel like going out again but I cannot find her number anywhere nor can I find the correct number of the centre she uses for meetings - all numbers I have tried seem to be disconnected or no longer used:mad: To be truthful she isn't much use and only feeds me stuff from the jobcentre with no real help at all:( The lady phoned me and was most miffed that I had registered with Remploy she claimed to have tried to call me this morning and said that my landline wasnt working and neither was my mobile - anyway the upshot is I have now dispensed with her services and will be sticking with Remploy
Need to open an account with Lloyds TSB to start getting some savings going now that I have received a payment from the auction house..this will go towards my car. I have asked mum to take some of my jewellery to her local jeweller to see what he will offer for it - anything is better than nothing and it is this money that I will use to pay off vile bully, even if I can pay a large part of it off that will be better for me - I am not paying interest as he has never had the courtesy of sending me a statement or sending details of any interest so he can whistle! He will be getting a letter about the logo too because I will find out where he stole it from.
I had a little treat in town too - I went to the Viennese patisserie and had a mini quiche lorraine and a big fat strawberry tart...they were delicious. I had a little letch on the bus home too because the driver is someone I know - my first love. Alas he is unhappily married and is watched like a hawk:( he wants out of the marriage and has done for a long time but he is scared of her and weak so hasnt got the guts to get a divorce.:(0 -
I got very wet this morning - the weather is atrocious with lots of idiots on the roads..I do wish people wouldn't go out at the same time as me!
Initially I went to Lloyds TSB to try and open an easy savings account but as I have no current photo ID then the law apparently states that I am unable to open an account anywhere:mad: I had to keep asking the female cashier to keep repeating what she said because they had loud music booming out in the bank and she spoke in whispers. It would seem that even though I am a sharesholder and have a dormant business account with them (apparently this was never closed by the Coop) then I am still not eligible. I was told that unless I get some photo ID eg. renew my passport and renew my driving licence (still have the pink paper version) then I will be unable to open an account anywhere. What do people do if they haven't got photo ID - do they store their money under their mattress? What was even more annoying was the fact that the cashier suggested that I should launder money through my dormant business account - by paying the cheque into it and withdrawing the cash - I still wouldnt be able to have a savings account though.
I then drove to the other village (now small town but traditionally known as the village), I had thought of going to the credit union but didnt fancy the walk so I nipped to Aldi to look for some digital scales for mum but they had sold out, I then went to Wilkinsons (seems they sell Stardrops too) to see what they had in the way of digital scales - only an expensive Worrall set then I remembered I have a set of his scales that I never use..problem solved mum can have my old scales that still work and I will continue to use my measuring jug (I have an old jug with cup sizes on it that I use all the time). Treated myself to a microfibre dusting glove as mum swears by them - last of the big spenders me:rotfl:
I picked up some savings leaflets from another high street former building society and will see if their policy is the same in that they need photo ID.0 -
I nipped out on Saturday morning to find some cardboard boxes - I eventually found some at a local shop which sells all kinds of tat, I will go back and get more. Not to worry I didnt pay for them as they were glad to be rid of them.
Yesterday I spent at home - it was far too wet n windy to go out and I was feeling a bit meh and didnt want to pass anything on to dad. Lazy bones didnt do much seeming to sleep for most of the day:o
Today I am up and at 'em and now well into my overdraft with the bank - next week I will get a HB cheque as they seem to pay that to me in arrears. I will try and phone soon to be ex OH tonight to discuss money - I also need to arrange to collect stuff and return a book that I borrowed from him but haven't had the time to read. To say that I am disappointed that he hasn't phoned to ask how my parents are is an understatement but it really is typical of him unfortunately. Now I haven't got a key to the marital home I cannot go and collect stuff - my record collection is still there as is furniture (he can pay for that to be removed) plus I have a few other things like my first birthday cards and some stuff that belonged to my grandma (scarves etc).
Thanks to a chum - I have since discovered that the arrow logo that I purchased as an original piece of artwork has in fact come from istock - I am not best pleased and will be formulating a letter because I have been reading istock's Ts & Cs.0 -
Currently awaiting a further call back from the legal helpline with regard to this issue. The icon itself comes from a page of similar blue and green icons which cost 5 credits which is about £6.05. Of course I have been charged way more than that - a total of £300 inc VAT! just for the design and artwork alone.0

Despite the glorious weather today I am feeling rather meh:( I went to the eye hospital earlier today (treated myself to a toasted teacake and a cup of tea whilst there as I had run out of milk) and was poked around by a different registrar (why don't they read the notes instead of me having to repeat myself?). The upshot is that my uveitis hasn't gone away so now I am on steriod drops 4x a day in my left eye plus I have to take pressure reducing drops as it would appear that my glaucoma has returned. I have to go back in 6 weeks (a 9am appointment which means another very early start for me).
At the next appointment decisions will be made about my eye because I may need to have the cataract surgery re-done as it would appear that the replacement lens has already turned frosty or I may need to have laser surgery.
Came home via Aldi for milk - washed my hair and had lunch before heading off to the chemist clutching my prescription. I discovered that I can have free prescriptions whilst I am unemployed which is great but I have to go back tomorrow as they are having to order my eye drops.
Nipped to mum's clutching my scales to replace hers which have broken. Had a chat with dad whilst mum did the garden although I did help her with deadheading later. I came away with a sirloin steak, half a homemade sultana loaf, 2 pears and an apple as well as some multi-headed tulips which had broken in the wind. Mum also got me some cheese.
Mum wishes I would sort myself out as she says that is obvious that I am not eating properly - I think I am but there you go. Whilst at my parents' a call came in from Remploy asking if I was interested in a 20hr a week job in Sainsbug's I confirmed that I was even though it means driving to a different part of the city - personally I would rather have the night shift at my local shop because at least I can walk to work. My CV has been submitted so wait and see.0 -
Hi Horace hon
Was having a think about your designer chappie - is he a member of any local networking groups?
Might it be worth popping in to to chat to the local Chair etc and "ahem" mentioning that he seems to be not the most trustworthy of individuals - particularly if you can prove the logo wasn't bespoke.
BTW if you can prove its not - I would tell him to whistle for any money or you will go to the press - that money would be better spent on getting the car safe for your new job (the one that's on its way LOL)

Hi gang
Today is application day as I have some to send off, I need to go to the chemist to get my prescription for the pressure reducing drops and need to see the health trainer - no doubt he will moan and say that I havent filled in the diary sheets - well I haven't for the last 2 weeks.
MG. I can prove that the logo was not bespoke and is an image purchased from istock for around £6 (his charge to me was £250 plus VAT). I have other evidence that the logo is used by other firms in the UK and beyond plus I do not have a licence to use the logo. So massive breach of contract. He does network in other places namely one place where folks can network for a fiver (a very spit and sawdust type of place where you have to take your own alcohol).
Chev - all offers accepted on the house, vendors have said they want this to be wrapped up quickly in which case they should get onto their poxy solicitors because our solicitor is still waiting for information from them e.g important stuff like deeds. We will not sign any contract until our solicitor has received all the information and is satisfied with it. So we wait.
Talking of the house - I was in BHS yesterday looking at the lightfittings that mum liked for the house - I was amazed at the huge increase in price as the ceiling light fitting for the lounge/diner had gone up from £50 to £85, the light fitting for the bedrooms had gone up from £25 to £45 and the one for the hallway had been increased from £15 to £22:eek: We may have to have a rethink although I do like the proposed fitting for the hallway so that might be the only one we get and I will make do until I get a job that pays.0 -
Right - the book is now open
Who bets that Horace gets a job, a house and a divorce all in the same week.
