I would have taken it out of the foil and covered it with a bit of clingfilm and nuked it for 45 seconds. just warmed up.

I can't eat cold food. I have to let salad get warmed up to room temperature. :o

I'm like that in winter. but not so much in summer. I hate ice in water though, or soft drinks. But not hings that ''should'' hgave ice in them. Part of the reason I don't feel right is the cold summer then the mild winter: weather and season dictate what I eat and at what temperature. I didn't want to have gone toi the supermaket so close to christmas but caved because I NEEDED salad, rather than hot veg, this week. It makes me a bit cranky..not feeling at one with food and weather.

I think the much lauded ancient Chinese medecine also suggests not haveing cold food in cold weather?

I love food too much. I've put on at least 4lbs in the last two weeks. :o

LOL, many women cope with more than that sort of change every month. Perhaps thats the crux of why we need double the number of clothes? One of my ex'es was freaked out by the fact all the girls he new had beginning of the month jeans and breeches (we were all horses) and end of the month jeans and breeches. still, I' can probably get an arm into the leg of a pair of my teenage end of month breeches now:o

OH went there, or somewhere near for a work conference. His flight arrived before others and I got a series of texts:

1Arrived at hotel, unpacked, going for a walk.

    2 Found a beach

    3 Its a nudist beach

4 Its a gay nudist beach!

    We were most amused.

Were they at bit 'stuck up'? ;)

My mistake - I thought the Sagrada Familia by Gaudi was Barcelona's Cathedral - is the real cathedral worth a visit?
mount Tibidabo is great when it's not misty but it's a coastal city so you need to pick your moment!

It's more of a traditional cathedral. It's nice, but not spectacular. Here's some pics to compare and contrast:

I kind of think the Sagrada Familia has trumped the Cathedral; perhaps one of them should be dismantled and given to a city that needed one. Maybe Milton Keynes?

i don't think i know anyone who has different trousers for the beginning and end of the month, although i wouldn't know as i would never ask! might be a posh alert!

for the record, when i weighed myself on tuesday i was 8lbs heavier than the last time i weighed myself, about 3 weeks before christmas. i was pretty cross, especially as i only really nailed the food on christmas day, and was sensible apart from that. but then i weighed myself today and i was back down to my original weight. go figure, as the americans would say.

Anyone watch Homes Under the Hammer this week?

DS's student landlords were featured http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0196xck/Homes_Under_the_Hammer_Series_14_Episode_163I (It must be a requirement that couples walk romantically up to their new purchase hand in hand.)

Anyway moving on, Ronnie obviously wasn't happy with the rental value suggested by the EAs... and he knows what he can achieve! Obviously, this project kept them so occupied they couldn't get all their other lets properly ready for the new term. But to be fair they do respond reasonably to complaints.

They are said to be in the top five of student landlords for the area. Hmmm, I wonder what the others are like.

The old Geraniums are still going strongly, I am starting to wonder if they could make it right through.

You mean pelargoniums, of course ;), but yes, I noticed some in tubs around the perimeter of a pavement cafe today, still blooming away, although there was no one sitting out there.

Some of my real geraniums here are in flower, and astrantias, hebes, and even a few tobacco plants. It's not normal and we'll pay for it somehow, but right now I'm looking at the log pile and thinking, "We may get away with it!" :)

I seen that one. Some of the refurbs come in at an unbelievably cheap price. One was £5k to transform a place, I don't remember the exact details now but it may have been on that same episode.
