It's funny seeing the different attitude to them here vs the UK. In the UK Mrs Generali asked a couple of GPs about removing them and was basically treated like a nut job. Here the doc asked about the moles, if they'd changed or were new or anything. One was new so he said, "That'll have to come out and we'll do all the others while we're at it".

    .

Those attitudes do lead to some absurd manifestations, like Shane Warne made up like an Apache on the warpath at a wet and windy Old Trafford.

2 Questions for the nice peeps...

I'm hoping that some of our own countryfile style posters may have an inkling, but anyone know if/when there is a chance of snow? Last year (ie december 2010) was a bit anomolous IIRC. The 2 februarys before we have had snow I think.

Other question, where to go for easter? Thinking of a 1-2 day break (already!)

    TIA.

Incidentally why does the monopolies Comission not get worked up about comet, dixons, PC world and currys all being one big family?

I didn't think Comet was in the family?

It isn't, it is now owned by OpCapita.

Speaking of PC's, I just ordered a new one online.
My current one is a crumbling P4, I guess about 6-7 years old.
I did upgrade it a couple of times with bigger drives and some extra memory, but now it just doesn't cut it anymore.

My mistake- I believe they were part of Dixon group at one point which perplexed me as some stores were ridiculouslly close together (even next-door in one case).
Which? magazine once did a comparison of the 80 brands of margarine you could once get in Britain (I know that's proabaly zero now) but they claimed there were only five companies manufacturing the stuff. There's far too much of this "pseudocompetiition" going on.

I think they are more sinned against than sinner against these days, everytime I see a novel new product (or even old product for that matter) on the shelves at Tesco it seems there is a Tesco 'own brand' undercutting, not far behind, it must be infuriating for the producers, presumably they can't complain or they would told to sell elsewhere. Is this how it works or am I being unfair? I noticed it with those Innocent Vegi pots this week.
