Mrs Generali is off to the hospital soon to have about 6 moles removed.

It's funny seeing the different attitude to them here vs the UK. In the UK Mrs Generali asked a couple of GPs about removing them and was basically treated like a nut job. Here the doc asked about the moles, if they'd changed or were new or anything. One was new so he said, "That'll have to come out and we'll do all the others while we're at it".

They would have been out within a fortnight but for Christmas. I'll get my 3 hacked out soon too I think. It only costs about 500 bucks once the insurance and Medicare have chipped in so it seems daft not to have it done really. I'm very fair skinned and got burnt a few times as a kid.

 You pair of pincushions...... :D

Glad there's a good response to any concerns over there. Our experience here has been pretty good too. Both DD and DS have had moles removed. Fortunately, each time there was nothing to be concerned about.

    2. Barcelona

This is high on my list for Easter. Any particular recommendations - places to visit or dine?

I haven't been, yet. Trip advisor is usually best for info like that

We ate in a Basque restaurant on a side street and stayed in a hotel in Las Ramblas. This is where I took Mrs Zag for a surprise weekend away for her birthday and didn't tell her where we were going till they called our flight (I'd smuggled her passport out of the house and said we were going out-of-town for the weekend - and when we ended up at the airport the airport staff were happy to keep the destination secret as well).

Lastminute.com got us a good deal for a Friday/Saturday stopover but it was a cheapo flight to an airport a good fistance from town.

Not all NPers said they'd like this kind of surprise!:p

I think they are more sinned against than sinner against these days, everytime I see a novel new product (or even old product for that matter) on the shelves at Tesco it seems there is a Tesco 'own brand' undercutting, not far behind, it must be infuriating for the producers, presumably they can't complain or they would told to sell elsewhere. Is this how it works or am I being unfair? I noticed it with those Innocent Vegi pots this week.

I've always moaned about how when there's a cheaper own brand with a lower price per 100 mls etc. the bottle usually has a wider neck so you pour more out each time and you don't get any savings.

wouldn't be surprised if some of the brands make the tescos own brand stuff for tescos.

I have thought maybe that as well, to be honest it can be the only rational explanation.

Forgive me for saying this zag, but Sagrada Familia (must see) isn't the same as the cathedral, which is in the gothic quarter.

I love Barcelona, I never tire of the place and every time I find something different to do. Tibidabo has been on my "to do" list for about three years and I still haven't got round to it (even though I went there twice last year).

    My favourites are:
    1. Parc Guell
    2. Montjuic and the Olympic site (fab views)
    3. Sagrada Familia (take the elevator tour if visiting - great views)
    4. Picasso Museum
    5. Shopping in Passeig de Gracia
    6. Walking around the sea front at Barceloneta and people watching

It's also worth checking for the fiestas that are on throughout the year. They do a fantastic do for St George's Day (Sant Jordi) as well as a very, ahem, interesting festival for Christmas - google cagoner and you will see what I mean:D.

Thanks. I presume it was a good choice for Mrs Zag and yourself?

We drove around the outskirts a few years ago, enroute from Alicante. I wanted to stay but there wasn't enough time. It was late evening, we got lost and found ourselves heading for the port, with visions of not being able to turn round and ending up having driven onto a ferry! At that point we surreptitiously got the satnav out, which you weren't supposed to use at the time apparently!!

My biggest moan is when the offers displayed haven't come off when you look at the receipt.

And there's the one when the price of buying two comes to more than twice each individual price. I've seen a few of those in Tesco recently.
