I took Mrs Generali and the Generalissimos to the mountains today and took some pictures:
The water is normal BTW, in fact it's very clear. I just used a slow shutter speed so it looks milky/smokey.0 -
The world is full of strange and unusual things, and a forum with bull and bear posts on... snow... is another confirmation that people are Stranger Than You Think(tm). I particularly like the fact that within two minutes on that forum I actually found dopester ;/ but I am not sure whether the Weather Dopester has a Dog.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Thanks. I presume it was a good choice for Mrs Zag and yourself?
We drove around the outskirts a few years ago, enroute from Alicante. I wanted to stay but there wasn't enough time. It was late evening, we got lost and found ourselves heading for the port, with visions of not being able to turn round and ending up having driven onto a ferry! At that point we surreptitiously got the satnav out, which you weren't supposed to use at the time apparently!!
TBH most of our previous visits to Spain were beach holidays with no real sightseeing, but I love exploring cities and we both found Barcelona fascinating- full of lovely buildings and great views, tapas bars, nice frestaurants every few yards, easy transport.
It's supposed to be one of the densest cities in the world but its got loads of little parks. Nowhere to park your car thouogh so I wouldn't drive there.
There's a San Francisco feel to the place; and I'm not surprised by Mr Silvercar's surprise at the beach.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Thanks zag. No, this one wouldn't be a drive affair!
The main problem we've had with Spain in the past has been the difficulty in finding good vegetarian food. DH can eat Spanish omelettes non-stop but I don't like that much stodge. I expect Barcelona is cosmopolitan enough, though, for us to manage.0 -

Barcelona is ok for veggies, I've eaten there plenty of times. I found a good veggie restaurant there once but can't remember what it was called, only that it was near Placa Catalunya. For lunch I tend to get a veggie Subway on the go:o. Subways are ubiquitous in Barca.

Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

On the subject of moles etc. in Australia, and how seriously they're taken I read somewhere that each year each resident has a 1% chance of developing skin cancer.
Mind you, I'd check that. In the last 24 hours I've already forgotten that Comet left Dixon's group and that Sagrada Famila wasn't Barcelona's cathedral so I'm feeling well past my cognitive peak of 45 now! :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

One of my ex'es was freaked out by the fact all the girls he new had beginning of the month jeans and breeches (we were all horses) and end of the month jeans and breeches. still, I' can probably get an arm into the leg of a pair of my teenage end of month breeches now:o
It's even more dramatic when you're breastfeeding. I remember when DS was a couple of months old, I went shopping with LNE for some clothes, including underwear. I came out of the changing room in one shop to complain to him, "The trouble with these bra manufacturers is they expect you to be the same size all day."PasturesNew wrote: »None of those load for me... not sure if it's me/my connection, or your hosting/images. I can see the images without any problem.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
