i lived with three girls in my second year - that was a useful experience, especially after being at an all boys boarding school.
obviously after about 25 minutes of that i wished i lived with 3 blokes, or just no-one!0 -

yeah course, they used to fight over who got to come in the shower with me every morning, and who would cook my dinner, etc etc.*
* = strictly speaking, not a single word of this sentence is in any way true.0 -

Then we overlapped. OH and I were there from 1996 - 1999 doing our law degrees, and then I was there also from 2000 - 2001 doing my LLM....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

lol.My bst frind at uni had to leave her accomodation because the two girls and bloke who shared it exactly that dynamic....the girls bickered and bickered and bickered while the guy was at first oblivious and just a bit grateful that he was seeing a lot more than he'd hoped when the housing was assigned, to the realisation and sudden exploitation of the two silly girls. Then my friend ''won'' and had to leave the place because she was horrified by...um, the fact he didn't measure up. Rather than the fact of that matter I think it was the realisation she's wasted two terms bickering with someone who had been a friend over what turned out to be an entirely unsatisfactory victory.
Break ups were so ''end of the world'' at uni. same friend had a really really lovely boyfriend later and I was almost as upset as them when they split....I've always been really upset that I didn't keep in touch with him afterwards he was a really wonderful guy (and as much my friend before the break up as she was).
dh says women can bicker over something they agree with each other about.:D0 -

agreed. Didn't do this toward the end and it was the worst mistake ever. Yet, so many people do meet at university......0 -

You might even get away with making a "cornflake garland" by painting bits of cornflake in silver/gold and stringing them up.
This is all, clearly, desperate, thinking on my feet thoughts, using basic ingredients you might already have in, or can get easily.
It's just the paint that'd be extra. Thanks for the tip.
I was looking for something really special for my wife this year. I can see her face now when she opens her presents to find a marrowfat pea necklace and a cornflake garland. To save money on the paint I'm going to use Frosties instead of cornflakes.
With those and a Kirsty snowglobe I reckon I've got Christmas cornered this year.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Love the NP's thread.
I quoted some posts last night (bullying work both lir and LJ and PN's) then got called away and couldn't find them again
Thinking of you PN and 'dumping' on here is good as it clears the mind a bit. I hope you are getting support for her from the right places now too...sounds like she's safe where she is now which is a good thing.
Good luck DH of LIR and loved (if you know what I mean) reading LJ's account as we just had a similar thing (but didn't really recognise it as such as, when you run your own biz, you tend not to be experienced in this type of behaviour from people in charge).
One thing I know for sure is they will lose an amazing employee so their loss in the end.
It was a bit similar to the Corp Landlord bullying we had over the shop rent (which is now let for free to a clearance/sale so they pay the rates) and it built up and up until we said 'stop'.
Had it again recently (and said 'stop' again) with something and the relief of never having to deal with these types and people ever, ever again is fabulous....but I have that slightly broken, worn out feeling (like after a battle).
Anyways, I have missed chunks of news and I hope eveeryone is well but did notice that Doozer recommended a kitchen. Any chance you could recomend me a toilet and small sink suppler online? Kind of bathstore.com stylee is fine0
