    I've corrected that for you.

I also quite like the idea of having a semi living nativity....puting the geese and old horse in there (she looks a bit like a donkey these day...she could wear fake ears :D) in the mix. we, dh and I, clients, can sit in instead of the pieces as living nativity characters. DH can wear his sheep suit. Then we can shout boo and make people terrified. :) maybe in future years might do it as a public service becuse the super dooper million camera security system will be in and we'll privately prosecute each and every scally. :) Every body has got to have a hobby. :)

You can always soften dried peas, then thread them with cotton, then leave them out to harden again, before painting them in festive colours and grouping them together with a bow at the top .... for the cat.

You might even get away with making a "cornflake garland" by painting bits of cornflake in silver/gold and stringing them up.

    Thanks for the tip.

I was looking for something really special for my wife this year. I can see her face now when she opens her presents to find a marrowfat pea necklace and a cornflake garland. To save money on the paint I'm going to use Frosties instead of cornflakes.

With those and a Kirsty snowglobe I reckon I've got Christmas cornered this year.

I'm the weird ife who would love household appliance for a gift (I know I'm not gettig one).

High on the list would be one of those vacuum robots that just gets on with beetling around the house by itself.

If you were feeling really generous you could make a garland from popcorn too. Waaay better than a Pandora bracelet!

That would be an awesome pressie for westie and us. He could chase that all day and the house would be clean for a change.

we do that here often on christmas day. After christms it goes out for the birds.

edit: actually I do prefer it to the pandora bracelets. But maybe its because I have popcorn and not pandora!

To all parents of teenagers, that would get called a Nunu. :D Be briliant in our house as well as our dog chases the vacuum anyway.

Speaking of teenagers, DDs getting uni offers now, mostly up north, about 200 miles away or 100 miles away. None local yet.

Any thoughts on what's best? Would NPs prefer your kids to study near or far away?

I think you have to have a special house, with very big rooms and little furniture for those robot vacuums to be able to get everywhere. They're a gimmick that I bet, for most people, would turn out to just about manage to vacuum the visible parts of the carpet and you'd still have to move furniture about to vacuum behind it all. They also don't climb walls and do picture rails or ceilings/light fittings.... or the crumbs that slide between the cushions on the sofa.

I think you'd still have to hoover once a week for all th reasons you say...but my floor could do with a hover twice a day and quite frankly I hate hoovering....so if I had to vaccum soft furnishings/picure rails/skirtings once a week and the machine kept it a bit better though the week I'd be as happy a larry. :)

but, yeah, I'm told they are pretty useless....

Don't buy proper "Frosties", get the supermarket own brand and save a fortune. :D

You will definitely be on a promise ;) - your wife's gratitude for such wonderful festive gifts will be endless.

Actually, while you're in a creative mood why not rustle up some festive undies for her. You could use those old red plastic nets which satsumas come in (or bird peanuts:rotfl::rotfl:)

    Merry Xmas :j:j
