There isn't any in the UK because it's an IHT avoidance. Theres plenty if you look further afield.

Really, I'd have thought that useful land would have quite a high value everywhere, if for nothing else than for crops to produce bio-fuels. Where do you suggest looking for cheap productive land? I'm being serious.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Poland
    Ukraine
    NZ
    France
Australia (check rainfall contours: extraction rights are often theoretical rather than real). Australian soil usually isn't great quality but it is very cheap. You can buy 1000 acres within 3 hours drive of Sydney in an area of reasonably predictable rainfall for $250/acre.

    DYOR of course.

So I got back to him and asked what exactly he meant.

He reckons it means that when something goes well, everyone jumps on the bandwagon to claim credit.:undecided:

That's like when David Cameron went to Notting Hill carnival the other year.
There were so many bandwagons, he didn't know which one to jump on!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Ended up buying the new Kindle Basic for mom. It looks pretty good - I'll probably buy one for myself after Christmas when it is cheaper.

Do you think prices will drop much further, tomterm?

I read somewhere that Kindles are being sold at a loss, even at current prices, Amazon's strategy being build as much e-book marketshare as possible, with the profits coming from selling digital content afterwards.
