I saw the smiley and thought that you must have found an application that does backup your website direct from the host, but having followed your link I am now left rather puzzled.:(
It takes you to the web applications index http://www.go2web20.net/ which is a portal site that contains links to all the web 2.0 sites that provide online services. e.g
dropbox lets you store files online(like a virtual memory stick), spotify is like an online jukebox, and so on. There's hundreds of these sites there.
Most of the sites do things I can't imagine or don't understand but I'd bet that if a website offered the service you're describing you'd find it listed there. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Item on the news about a food bank and low wages. They gave the following figures from the ONS:
Average Weekly Pay in Torridge (Devon) £333 - Torridge is a region (all the middle bit), not a town.
Average National Weekly Pay £501
Average London Weekly Pay £9810 -
My site is a DotNetNuke CMS on an ASP host. I'm sure if I had time (1-2 days) I could work out how to download the backup (even if I didn't have somewhere to put it to). But those online services in the link I doubt would do any DNN stuff .... and, it's a heck of a security risk.
My site appeared at about 12pm, the host (being American) decided early Thanksgiving would be a great migration time to minimise downtime.0 -
It's a long time since I used to manage really big complicated sites, but there was a phase when I would hire an hour of engineer time a month, and get them to back up the site and post it on a disk.
Cost a fortune, though.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

The following phrase was quoted to me today:
"Nothing succeeds like a parrot with no teeth"
Didn't have a clue what it meant.
Part spoiler (highlight to reveal): succeeds= sucks seeds
But that doesn't explain what it means! Any ideas?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
