One can only hope that it isn't true

well, i left in 1997, so i can't provide you with any useful information about what it's like now. i thought it was a very good school and most people with any application came out of it with very good results. i really enjoyed the VIth form there.
shortly after i left, the headmaster also left, and the new one pursued a policy of sourcing rich students from china - presumably because he could charge them lots and lots of money for a uk education. i heard some bad things about it - suggesting that a significant % of the children couldn't speak english adequately, that there were big chinese cliques at the school, and that all of this was affecting the general standard of education. i have no idea whether any of this is true.
however, that headmaster has also left, and the former head of sports (who was there when i was there) is now the headmaster - he is pretty good so i imagine that the place is back on track, if it was ever off-track. the head is rugby mad so if you offspring are good at rugby he would obviously love them.
it was all boys when i was there, there are girls there now as well which has presumably made a big difference. obviously this sort of thing shouldn't be allowed but you can't stop progress it seems!!
i refer you back to the point i made a few pages ago though - there are only two rugby pitches on-site, so unless they've bought up some other sports grounds locally you're going to be doing a lot of travel if you keep going to rugby games!0 -

Well, restorative justice is working there in a way. It's given an insight into the mind of the semi-professional teenage petty thieves, and of course the Police are using this as part of their crime-prevention campaign. So, it's turned out quite useful, in the end.
Anybody who breaks into someone else's house must have a compelling reason to do so or a total (psychopathic?) disregard for the feelings of the people they are burgling. The teenager who wrote that letter may be a psychopath, but the more likely explanation is that he is rebelling against the authorities imposing restorative justice on him, and he regarded the letter as an elaborate joke.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

The main site's the one that's earnt me all the money over the years, and the one that's recently "died" .... and no I don't have a backup as I don't have a good enough internet connection to have ever got a backup as last time I needed one it was well over 4GB - and all this was on my "to do" list once I get finally settled and with proper broadband, which I've not had for over 2 years.
That's an interesting business possibility: an online storage facility that allows you to backup your website direct from the host, ie you don't have to download it to your PC first and then upload it to the online storage. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Might be worth checking if one of these websites does anything like that :cool:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I saw the smiley and thought that you must have found an application that does backup your website direct from the host, but having followed your link I am now left rather puzzled.:(No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
