They were told the day before - 75% that the treatment will successfully contain things. Not complete eradication but controlled and prevented from spreading/ doing more damage and quality of life restored to near normal.

So they thought they were being given new info, but they weren't. Just people asking too many questions of the wrong sort, especially since its only 10 days since they were told it was C.

How ghastly and incompetent. It could almost be the basis of a TV farce, except that it caused real hurt.

Just got back from nearly a day in hospital, having an intra venous iron supplement. It's no big deal (I hope!), as my iron has been going down extremely slowly for the last 10 years, and they think I'm just not brilliant at absorbing iron. No big deal, I say, except that I had the iron infusion in the Chemotherapy ward. To repeat the phrase of the moment: this is "the most humble day of my life".

Watercress - lots of it. I managed to double my iron count by having one portion a day for a week.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Have a super, super time silvercar :)

iron, one of my regular supplements....feragrad c is the best on the market for me. Not the cheapest, but keeps one on ones feet. When I had to see nutritionalists to figure out what the hell was going on with me after being ill, I proudly told them I ate spinach at least thrice a week...great they said..but what do you do for your iron count? Stupid Popye myth. What kind of education is that for kids?

gdb2222, they told me liver too, and that I can still eat as much spinach/watercress etc as I want. so long as I take feragrad c :) I LOVE watercress soup. Probably my fav soup. As a salad its great with duck and grapefruit...my fav salad. :) Lots of good things about iron rich food!

I'm so tired I can barely type, desperately thirsty too, but have to go out to somewhere i'm not sure there will be nice person loos. So will suck my tongue and smile. Its good I'm being social, its bad I've just slapped makeup on and feel like a painted scarecrow. Can't even be bothered to find good accessories. I've wrapped a necklace around one wrist, some earing that in no way match clothes but do match each other. Too tired to care. Cadging a lift, but think we might want to leave earlier than them...money for taxi in bra because won't fit in stupid tiny clutch.

Hoping I can make it home much earlier than cinderella!

sister is now dithering if she wants the surgery.

iron is easy, medium rare steak, spinach, watercress and a glug of iron juice to help iron absorption. Chemo patients are in a good mood, they've been given hope, really difficult when you deal with cancer. when all else fails, there is hope.

One of the patients was talking with his daughter about faith healers. I kept very quiet, gritted my teeth, and concentrated on the newspaper. Who knows what I would do in their position?

I'm annoyed, Formula 1 coverage will be shared between BBC and Sky from next season.

No way I'm gonna subscribe to Sky, so I guess it will be down to the pub to watch the race.

A few more angry red heads from me:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It isn't so much the fact that it is going to Sky that's annoying, it is the fact that the BBC's coverage is the best it has ever been. The access pre and post race is astonishing compared to previous standards and their commentary team is peerless. Whichever side we watch in the future that will be broken down.

Now what happened to the smarmy midget with a dodgy syrup's statement the other week that he hoped F1 will always be free to view?

NDG I found myself thinking about you today. I went to buy lunch in a supermarket in the town where my "new" library is. It's posher than where I used to work and has a Waitrose. When I looked to see which was the most appropriate queue for my needs, I looked up and saw a "10 items or fewer" sign. I decided that you would be pleased and would possibly shop there.

    Totally agree 100%

It's the best it's ever been programme and race wise.

I don't subscribe to sky as i watch little TV, so it's not going to be as good as it is for me i expect.
