Why hello there sss555s. We haven't seen you on the NPT for a little while. Is everything going well for you? Any news to share?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Well we made it to Devon for Little Bro's wedding tomorrow but missed meet the families dinner tonight - here is the story...

Woke up with a migraine so took lots of pills and stayed in bed rather than trying to leave at 10am as planned. Finally felt up to it at about 3pm - loaded up car (DW has packed for 6 months and 3 seasons for all 5 of us for some reason!) started engine, engaged first gear...didn't engage first gear it wouldn't go in to gear at all. Now the vital piece of information the nice people don't have is that the car was in the garage for some warranty work yesterday when they had changed some part of the clutch as I had mentioned it was taking fairly low down. So I phoned the garage rather upset 'You had my car yesterday, you did something to the clutch that was working fine and now it won't go at all and I need to be in Devon for my brother's wedding tomorrow on pain of death'. They were actually quite helpful at this point offering a courtesy car if I could get my car there 'but we only have a Fiat 500' (tiny car) - looking at my big mpv loaded to the ceiling with stuff and 3 kids with car seats I couldn't help but laugh. Credit where it is due though, they quickly managed to organise a QuashQuii (pretend 4wd) and we squeezed in and made it down to Devon this evening - and as I am here for 2 weeks that is how long we will have the loan car - just a shame it is not a nicer car.

GDB I hope your iron is OK.
FC good luck with the window
LIR Good luck with the windows and I hope you had a good night out
PN did you get the old back?
SS55 and Viva - problem is can the BBC justify the spend for such good coverage when there are so many other sports?
Silvercar I hope your holiday is so good you don't feel the need to log in and see this message
    I think....

    Congrats FC. It's your year!

Well.....if this is as good as it ever gets then I am a very happy FC. We are very aware that in the Zig Zag of our type of business we could go on a Zag at any time.

I want to to be prepared financially for that moment. Creatively, I already have a whole new range in my head for my own age group just in case so I can start all over again.;)
Kn4ckered... up most of the night, a Doc came... app set for Hosp this morning .... only the old was too unwell to travel and by just after 6 I had the 999 lot out, who carted the old off. Hoping it'll be an admission.... for days .... so tiring. Aggressive, 4rsey, vile to us when all we're trying to do is help/manage/sort out ... pander to 1001 requests and take all the !!!!!! that comes spewing forth every time they speak at you (not to, AT). It's quiet here now .... kn4ckered, but relieved, it's so peaceful and I will no longer be "wrong" all the time when trying to follow poorly worded orders.

If I get a call in 2 hours saying "come and collect..." I'll just hang up. They can keep the old.
From now on you are Saint PN...as LIR said about foaling/lambing, reminds me of caring for a crothety new born baby but waaaay more difficult for you as he is old and very ill

It may be that he may will stay in hospital now. Will the advocacy people be able to help chat to the hospital when you have to talk to them?
Are you going on the mini break this W/E?
fc, I checked out you internet presense at big shop yesterday. I was a bit frustrated not to be able to see the back of the thing thats very unlike your other stuff on the 360 view. It might be just me, but it was jumping from one side to the other and wouldn't show me the back. Because you often have interesting backs this might frustrate people who are slim enough to wear it and buy it!

    It all looks great though.

    Hurrah to ds!!

I will PM you but we have no input on anything other than our Real Life set up.

To NDG (as I reached max post quote) it was a 65 and a 2 i...but it's called a commendation. Beyond that I am clueless on how they grade.

However, he is gutted today as he didn't get selected for a TC from a summer scheme. The FB was interesting and not about academic ability. I can't post publicly about it but, maybe, if you don't have a strong belief in the ethos of something, it shows through in body language or other ways.

Getting a TC is going to a toughy as he had an internship also but that firm only offer 2 every 2 years (and it's not this year).
Other apps have gone in so it's wait and see but he's lost heart a bit.......so we then sounded like our own parents tonight + had 'a chat' about 'not giving up' and all that stoic stuff we were raised on.

Thing is @ 24 one wants everything straight away and everything to be textbook and perfect going to plan and feels rubbish having to affirm that life's just not like that.:(

    Hi all the ssss's.

That is what I like about the nice people. That we are all so very different. Not one of my girl friends would not know what gelled nails are, even if they've never had it done.

Basically your nails get buffed then it is coats and coats of nail varnish-like stuff that is put on your nails by a trained bod with a sealant on top. After each coat your hand goes in an ultra violet or infra red thing to set it. The result is manicured and varnished nails that hopefully won't chip or smudge for 2-3 weeks.

Ah, thanks. Entirely new to me.

I've always hated having long nails - I hate it if they click when I'm typing or playing the piano. And for netball, I have to keep them really short anyway.

It's posher than where I used to work and has a Waitrose. When I looked to see which was the most appropriate queue for my needs, I looked up and saw a "10 items or fewer" sign. I decided that you would be pleased and would possibly shop there.

I would indeed. Our local Waitrose has one (-:

Waitrose has an undeserved reputation for being expensive, I think.

Getting pupillage or a training contract is a nightmare. It's a horrible experience, and grim as all out. If it's any consolation to your son, everyone hates that time!

OH took 4 years of applications to get pupillage, and then got one at the set he most liked out of the whole Bar. But it was a depressing time before he got it.

Takes 40 minutes and costs £30, but if the results last over 2 weeks I'll be happy.
