    Techy NP, Netbook or ipad2?

From what I hear (I'm not a techy) depends on what you need it for.

If it is mainly web browsing, then ipad. If you need to do typing/databases, inputting, or other information related stuff, a netbook is the thing.

I've tried a tablet at work. Because a lot of my work results in having to type stuff, the onscreen keyboard just didn't work for me, as you only have 1 hand free to type with. I will be trying a netbook shortly.

At any rate, I don't understand why pastures new isn't eligible for Attendance Allowance, which should help some way towards her living expenses, and working persons tax credit etc.

The old should be getting attendance allowance, based on the care needs, not PN.

PN should be claiming Carers Allowance as a result of providing care to old, if old is recieving attendance allowance.

Neither are means tested PN, so get in there...

NP, any recommendations (either from yourselves, or offspring) regarding MP3 players?

I have a poor quality one. You all know how I love music. I need a good one.

I have an apple aversion, so I'm not convinced by an apple.

Quite liking the look of this:

    & also this:
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/nws-a-series/nwza865b.cew (especially seeing as they've got rid of their awful sonicstage setup)

Any thoughts/recommendations? Any feedback gratefully recieved.

I think going down the Attendance Allowance route is a good idea. PN's old needs to get used to being around other people, and getting someone in using AA money will free up Pastures as well as getting the older person used to having someone else being responsible for care.

My Mum and her sister looked after my nan for many years before she died. Mum and aunt had a pact never to allow their children to get as absorbed in their lives as they had with nan. Sadly, my aunt only had a few month's freedom after my nan died before she died. You never know what's round the corner. And my mum has gone the other way as she has got older. She refuses any help at all, because she doesn't want us drawn in, which in a different way is also infuriating because you then end up getting drawn up when things go t*ts up (sorry, couldn't think of a better phrase to use).

Sadly, an ipod is the gold standard.

    Three things to look at:

Sound quality; how easy to get music transferred to MP3: availability of the music.

Are you expecting sympathy for something you have done off your own bat, without prior consultation with the NP? ;)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Never seen him before. Going with a lifelong fan. Was lucky to get what I feel are excellent tickets!

Bit of a drama getting them though - first set of tickets on order experienced a system crash. Was then trying for ages to get the 2nd ones.
