The google spiders aren't on this board as I c+p'd a para once and put it in ..nothing came up.

I'll try another one later on and see.
There is an option for site owners to provide Google with a way to crawl through "member onlyl" areas and have them indexed.... while it's not done today, you can never tell if it'll be done in the future unexpectedly

The big market is the 30-somethings who want something nice to wear but aren't too mum-sy or too party.

I always look as if I'm dressed for work or I've aged 10 years in a frock. (this is also evidenced by THE Kate who is remarkably close to my age but dresses as if she turned 40 once she got married)

anyways, good news. went for a totally undeserved spa day and feel great. really amazing what a day off can do although i am back to this grant writing now.
    Yum a spa day.;)
We sneaked off to Champneys 2 months ago..booked it for OH's birthday. Have never done anything like that before (always had kids and no spare £££ to do such a fab self indulgent thing for 3 days. I loved it and we just did loads of excercise classes, swims and lolling about in dressing gowns.
Good luck with the grant writing.
Yeah, its nice him being back, its not SO different from London apart from the fact its proving really expensive and the way it was sprung on us and has no end date etc.

In fact...for those who were so sweet when it happened you'll be amazed to know sadistic boss THANKED dh tonight for work done. DH hasn't broken yet and like he always has done is rising to the challenge in his own sweet way. Apparently people are amazed there have not yet been tears and tantrums....I don't think now that there will be, but I have to admit I remain really worried for him at times. Its very stressful before you even get through the person/people to the work, which is also fairly high stress.

If most start up businesses had that coverage they'd do well. Very little in the collection shown on tv appealed to me. I thought the arm things were quite funny. But then I wore tights and leggingds under shorts. (and, er still do for exercising :o)

    I hadn't thought of the cost of to-ing and fro-ing from there...ouch.

I am learning a bit more about your DH's sector through son. His experience this summer threw him a bit but he is now doing 2 slabs of work experience/pro bono via the college this month. One with Amnesty (yay!) and the other with art students wanting to set up their own biz. Handy lad to have in the family team.

It's a such a hard 'industry' and ruthless through and through sometimes.......maybe he'll get a mega prize (in the form of a fat rise) once the deal is done and he did such a sterling job?:)

The above in bold is so so true. It's funny how the telly thing sends something ballistic. I remember gordon ramsey and 'soul in a bowl' and then ju ju when Mary P did her makeover on them. They became the biggest touriost attractions in Brighton and the tourist office had more calls about Mama Cheries than the pavilion apparently. Sadly she went down in the end.

Well it's only 2 rooms + the tiniest loo/shower that could be squeezed in, but it is the nicest place I've ever lived.

Spotting lots of annoyances/corners cut already though. Kitchen cupboards reek of damp (won't be putting much in there though, this isn't a place for Kitchen Goddess phase). Floor tiling's been done in-house and doesn't look level to me. Some badly chosen rugs around on the tiled floor keep tripping me up, so I might have to take a bunch of those up and roll them up in a corner for the duration else I'll have a nasty accident. It is nice to have a freezer though .... and the local shop does a great selection in £1 frozen meals I'm working my way through.

Access isn't salubrious either .... but it is big and light all day - and there's this fabulous stuff called central heating, that's actually turned on (a real treat for me).

Got a washing machine, but not got round to doing any shopping yet so no powder, so not used that yet.

Plan is to gather everything I own into this space in January/February and get the whole darned lot out and catalogued and reboxed.... I've no idea what I've got and must have a few things I can decide are no longer required. Got to keep travelling light :)
Hey :) central heating.....is it included in the rent?

Is well old back at home now? How's everything been since? You sound more perky so I hope things are settling into place for you. Your summer sounded unbelievably diffficult.

I'll have you know I sound very posh indeed when I use my telephone voice or we go to posh restaurants :rotfl:

Youngest has a bed which has a slide...or it would have if his room was actually big enough for it to fit in.

Names of baths have left me confused, to me a bath is a bath...sometimes they are big and have feet, sometimes they are small and don't, sometimes they are ceramic, sometimes they are plastic and sometimes they are metal. Names of manufacturers though? Nah.

Not sure any of you would approve of my kitchen, it is 1980's chic, dark wood, dark green lino and a few tiles with flower transfers stuck on (couldn't get the beggers off when we moved in so stayed they have!), a huge farmhouse pine table (bought for a bargain £10 13 years ago), a 6ft long office notice board with the boys artwork on it (and a few darts too - it has a green like baize on it) and Eternal Beau curtains. Absolutely nothing matches (well the plates used to go with the curtains a while ago) but it is functional and we don't feel scared to put hot dishes on the table.

Horrendously bad day today, middle son went into a rage at my parents house, youngest got all upset, sister in law threw up through the stress and dad got over stressed because of it....I'm stiff and hurt all over from trying to restrain him and have a blinding headache, going to love me at the hospital tomorrow, blood pressure is probably sky high right now.

Had already been a bit of a stressful day as it was, had to find over £60 to pay for resit fees and when I went to test my central heating in preparation for the winter, the boiler was firing but not igniting....arrggghhhh! Tried it again tonight though and it is all working fine now, think it may have been due to the long lay off of using it but will get someone out to check it out anyway (the boiler is only 4 years old so SHOULD be ok..that said, they had to replace half the parts on it 18 months ago).

All quiet on the western front now...

Have you got any Eternal Beau plates left unbroken? They sell for ££££ on Ebay.

I had a similar set, all octagonal, and I contacted some of the sellers on Ebay to see if they were interested. One agreed to come to me, packed it all up herself and paid me cash. Discontinued ranges are big sellers. Easiest Ebay money ever.

Sounds awful. Is there a chance that he throws a wobbly when your around in the knowledge that you will restrain him?

Drat, I gave mine to a jumble sale about 20 years ago. I have however still got my grandparent's set of Homemaker. Lots of it too, they ran a guesthouse:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-RIDGWAY-POTTERIES-HOMEMAKER-7-PLATES-50-S-60-S-/250867184327?pt=UK_PotteryPorcelain_Glass_PotteryPorcelain_China_SM&hash=item3a68d972c7

Wouldn't sell it though, sentimental value. And I'm a terrible hoarder. Never thought of looking on Ebay.

It's part of the main house heating, so yes, but I have absolutely no control over the hours it comes on.... but it's on more hours than I'd have ever had it :)

Yes. Difficult/almost impossible. Today has been the first day I've not gone there, but the old phoned as I was going to go for an appointment that was cancelled.

Got a panicky sibling emailing multiple times per day in a panicky mode who just won't leave me alone ... so I am getting no peace. No peace = not able to sort out my stuff, sort out my life, save my income, think straight, do my overdue homework, sort out my tax return, 100 other things I've been putting off.....

Yep and bowls, serving platters, teapots, coffee pots, sugar bowls, gravy boats and loads more...the list goes on and on, I used to collect them.

I won't sell them though, they are for best (apart from the plates and bowls)
