How are you?
Well obviously I have been decorating. Unsuccessfully.
To everyone else...
!!!!!! is a stair ladder? I am hiring bu g ger all. The whole idea of me and a Farrow and Ball paint bucket was ECONOMY.
Why have I wooden beam bits in my hall and why did I imagine I could outdo an honest artisan?
I blame the conservative government.
Oh fu ck I have half a hallway painted and the honest artisan is going to have a field day to finish this

I've got a plastic garden chair. That'll have to do. Have to set out early in case we need 2-3 rests down the garden.0 -
I'm not ill

I'm probably the only one here that's as fit as a fiddle .... I'm never really ill.0 -
I am never ill. I am a peasant, you can work us to death until we hit 60 and then we just quietly drop dead.
None of which solves the stairs problem.
I can't remember the last bloke who decorated coming with speshul equipment. To the best of my recollection all he had was a rag and a brush.
I will not be defeated by a mere ceiling with wooden bits

They are installed at the behest of the painting and decorating industry to prevent you from painting your own home.0 -
I had a home once, new, when I walked in it had lots of wooden bits: beams supporting the upper mezzanine, window frames, window sills, stair handrail and banisters. Four completely different types and colour of wood. Somebody looked round and said "you should stain that". I didn't know about staining ... when explained, I didn't fancy it ... so the mug that suggested it stained the lot

That worked a treat pretty much.... it certainly got the four shades of wood to a stage where you didn't really notice they were all different unless you were looking hard/for faults.0
