I have only briefly visited London & last year was the first time I spent any actual time there. Don't know the norf/sarf divide properly there.
Because of my wierd JtR fascination, I loved wandering around Whitechapel.
What did you think of Whitechapel?? I'm not sat a million miles away from there right now...0 -

I have an ever so slight link with Wolverhampton in that my Dad worked there during the War on the Boulton Paul Defiant mentioned at the end of the piece. He fitted the gun turrets.
Dad didn't say much about his wartime days, but I remember him telling me of a time when he flew with the Defiant to check the operation of the guns. On one trip, someone had set up the interrupter mechanism wrongly, and this resulted in the planes' own tail being partially shot-off. If I recall correctly, they had to land in some farmer's turnip field.
It says in the article that it was a 'fine' plane. That's not the word Dad used! :rotfl:0 -

OK, I'll rephrase: I'm sat Whitechapel as I work there0 -

You're all spoilt and don't know it.
Its all about the number of people each hospital has to serve. So your local hospital may serve the same number of people, but because you all spread yourselves out, you have further to travel.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The history intruigues me. Like I say, I think that pretty much comes down to my JtR fascination.:o
I could spend a few hours wandering around the area if I were left alone. When I visited last year, was with friends, & they wouldn't allow me to hog the whole trip! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

as makes sense really. SWe might have miles out side the metropolis, but we don't have traffic so much...time often the same not travelling in an ambulance. we're sort of half way between two...but traffic makes at least one feel very far away, but its meant to be a good hospital.0 -
