My aunt, who is on DLA and has emphysemia (sorry I know that's probably not the right spelling) has been told she can't have her annual flu jab as there's no money. You may recall earlier in the year I got the same answer when I asked to have a painful mole removed. Just wondered if anyone else is getting the same.
My MIL was puzzled she's not being reminded to get a flu jab and has to go to the doc and ask for it - this is in Surrey. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Sorry, not old or infirm enough for a flu jab, and I've not yet had the 'pleasure' of meeting any doctors here either.
Recently, I was sent a questionnaire about my local NHS services. I tried to palm it off on DW, but she wasn't having any of it, so I filled it in. It was mainly 'Don't knows' or 'N/A.'0 -
Not had any probs for the kids and I have Bupa.
Just had parents evening - I don't think the teachers know which child is which - Our boolshie, noisy DD1 is apparently as good as gold and our quiet, shy DD2 apparently happily participates in class even in large groups and doesn't take any nonsense.I think....0 -

Way back in the 1920s, my aunt, who was rather a nightmare at home with an uncontrollable temper, brought home a glowing report from school. My grandparents indignantly confronted her with the evidence that she was able to behave well, and demanded an explanation for why she didn't do so at home. Family history holds that she gazed limpidly at them and asked guilelessly, "Well, I can't be good all the time. Would you rather I was good at home and naughty at school?"Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Are the Nice people home style council in?
I'm looking for a woodburner for the crumbling kitchen/will be study. It could go in sort of now if we find one (flue in place) but typically, I don't want any old woodburner. I really want an art deco/modern one...in teal, blue or green.
Now, the chic might want to look away becuase the colour scheme sounds scary: the ceiling is going to be blue and white. the walls are going to be mainly covered by white (well mainly white, white with a hint of the italianate jew showing) and then remaining wall space is going to be arsenic
So I'm looking at stoves like these:

If your going for that colour wall lir, will the blue of the fire you've chosen work for you? It's really hard not seeing the two colours against each other, they will either work spectacularly or look dreadful together. I was wondering about something in a not too deep navy with the wall colour, or perhaps a lovely pewter.
I love the style of the older burners though. They are stunning.
You're probably best off not listening to me though as my house is all pastels and different shades of grey. You'd hate it.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It could be worse, they could be mixing them up with DS - that would be really strange! On a serious note, I wonder if they are different in a classroom setting to as home. DD2 doesn't come across as shy. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Well DD2's teacher owned up to calling her DD1 half the time (to which DD2 apparently responds quietly but forcefully 'No it's DD2') and she will have DS1 in 3 years so who knows, especially if DW continues to rule out a hair cut for him.I think....0

All those look like the same one to me
Does look chic but for me it depends on how warm that area/house will be.
If the house is never going to be a warm house then blue may not be the right colour but if your going to manage to make the house bright and warm then it should work in my opinion.0 -

They have three other styles in red: http://www.directstoves.com/results.php?ajaxsearch=red+enamel
2] French stove finders.... http://www.stovefinders.com/p-stove_sales_Antique_French_Stoves.html
Is it possible to get any stove you like, then pay to have it re-enamelled in the colour of your choice?0
