I'm off for tea/cake with some old dears .... discovered a weekly get together in walking distance for the old.... and the old can't go alone ... so I have to go too. Left to their own devices they'd not go, or go under duress then declare everybody was old/deaf/whatever and never go again... so I have to go and judge for myself so I can counter-argument any reasons that might be put forward for non-attendance in future weeks.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm glad you edited that, I struggled to thank it with that image there...

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

    It's not free!

I actually ended up doing: deliver, get the old seated, lurk .... inch towards the door .... and leg it :)

    Going back to collect soon.

It was a bit ... grim/dire (shabby) to be honest. But it's all about the people so maybe once they'd all arrived/got seated and nattering that doesn't matter. Being grim/dire only matters if you're sitting there like a lemon wishing the clock hands would move faster (actually there wasn't a clock, so even that's not an option).

The old's not walked out/home .... having said that I think the old doesn't realise it's only 100 yards away as we approached from a different direction, so is expecting to be picked up in the car I think.... so wouldn't have walked out as wouldn't have the bearings to know where home is and it'd seem very far.

PN I think it may be the time to splash out on a £100 smart phone, shove in your 3g sim from your dongle and then whilst waiting for your old/wife/kids (delete as appropriate) you can get on with browsing/pretending to work.

Out of interest, have any other Hertfordshire NPs or their families had trouble accessing NHS services? My aunt, who is on DLA and has emphysemia (sorry I know that's probably not the right spelling) has been told she can't have her annual flu jab as there's no money. You may recall earlier in the year I got the same answer when I asked to have a painful mole removed. Just wondered if anyone else is getting the same.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
