    That's brilliant

My mistake - I somehow thought we were fellow [STRIKE]-luddites[/STRIKE] traditonalists holding out against the spread of the smartphone.

sigh- I guess it's just me then.
    :o
Well, I don't have a smartphone, I have a thingey that plugs into my PC :)

New place probably has a footprint of 13'x23' in total. Living room is about 13' square and has a kitchen down one wall, bedroom has en-suite and so all of that is probably 10'. HUGE!!

You are definitely not spoiled PN.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

When I was 7 I had no activities or homework. What activities?

Do all kids have homework at 7 now then?
First time I encountered homework I was aged 11/12.... and I had nowhere to do it so never bothered. :)

I didn't get homework at 7 either...but I had lots of activities to keep me busy. I also started to get homework at age 11 but my activities (at least 5 hours of dance training a day) meant I didn't have time to do it at home, I usually did it in registration at school.

Re coffee, I don't have that problem, can't stand the stuff.

Re mobiles, I have a semi smart phone, not quite all the bells and whistles but certainly not a basic one either....and even if it did have all the bells and whistles, I dare say I still wouldn't use it any different to the one I have now, as long as it can access the internet in a basic manner, send and receive texts, make and receive calls and have a diary function, I am quite happy.

Oh and it has to have buttons, touch screens do not like me at all and the control freak in me has to have a back up facility in case the screen fails, at least you can still make a call.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Nice people....I have been coffee free for a couple of weeks or so now...

...anyone else given it up and rehad it?

I've found that since I've got older (over 40) i struggle with some "foods" more. I don't drink coffee now as i personally don't think it's very good for you and it makes me feel a bit cwap.

I've also found i can't eat nuts like i used to. I love nuts but get painful headaches if i eat more than a couple of walnuts, Brazil nuts make me feel low for some reason and i try and not eat as many salted peanuts as i used to.

I love fish and i also love fruit, especially pineapple, strawberry's and raspberry's :EasterBun

well, I got through this evening without it, despite wanting one badly I decided it would probably keep me awake...so I might get through tomorrow now.

I'm drinking a lot of mint tea atm....unlike misskool I have found I have lost the taste for green tea totally. I used to love it, now I don't like it at all.

I don't have one. Mine...the new one I spent ages painting with nail vrnish....plays the radio, but I can't work that out and its texting is horrid...so dh sends me long texts and I just reply

    ''x''

    :o:D

My sympathies! My phone has a touchscreen about the size of a thumbnail but it's not a smartphone. The stylus broke within a few days of getting it.

If I was blind and wearing boxing gloves I could barely do a worse job of texting on it. Me saying "hi" would be like writing "War and Peace" in slow motion.

Someone did send me this webpage for smartphone users if I can get my phone's pathetic browser to work
    http://m.thebigproject.co.uk/
    - it's the mobile version of the astonishingly useful http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/ page.

Thanks for that, I've always found the web on the blackberry a pain. That sight looks a good portal.

We always seem to have great literature involving Kipper, Biff and Chip.

I loathe them, too. If it's any consolation.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

My children had them too- they're the Janet and John of the 21st century. At least you don't have to sit through endless cartoon movies about silly kids card game characters.:eek:
I always remember sitting with DD in a movie called digimon or pokemon or something and realising that all the parents in the cinema were silently shrieking with boredom.:eek::eek:
Besfore that there was a bizarre series called teletubbies - words fail me!
    :(
