regarding bedtime stories....one of the thoings I'm sad to have lost is a recording my father made for me of bedtime stories as he read them to me. Its a good thing to hve if you don't always see your parents at bedtime.
I've been meaning to replace a book with something similar I can't find from my kiddy collection, about the Tomte that was a family book sent by my maternl grandmother when I was little. I don't relly remember much about it but the name and that it was Swedish!0 -
i've gone from being absolutely addicted to coffee to not really drinking anything bar green tea all day. it takes a while for your tastebuds to change but it will.
V V V V V stressed about something at the moment. it's absolutely critical to get something right by Tuesday and it's Sunday now.0 -
So sorry to hear that, misskool. Hope it all works out, whatever it is.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Stroke of luck ... found somewhere, got a moving in date. Holiday place, self-contained... AND .... I GET A BEDROOM!!!!! Brilliant, not used to a bedroom... and it's the best/biggest place I'll have ever lived!! Rent's all inclusive, except electricity, so no changing over utilities etc. It's available after half term. I've said I'll take it.
As it's usually for holidays it's got everything and everything's shiny and cleanI could literally move in without any of my stuff.... just pick up a bag of chips on the way over. It's in a small town/village on the coast.

DD1, 7 wants to start reading Harry Potter, I'm not sure she will get it yet. May be the brilliant local librarians will find her something suitable but with all her activities and homework I'm not sure how much time she has for reading...
...
If she learns to find time for reading and learns to love it then she has the key to almost every door in life she wants to open..help her find the time!0 -

Do you mean Sven Nordqvist?Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
I was very much a reader but it is not for everyone, I just can't understand where all the time goes. This evening she was doing her learning log and was being a bit pathetic, lots of crying and I can't do it when I offered myself to answer specific questions but not tell her exactly what to do. Don't know which parent she gets it from...lostinrates wrote: »If she learns to find time for reading and learns to love it then she has the key to almost every door in life she wants to open..help her find the time!I think....0
