Meanwhile, & especially as davesnave is about, my peppers appear to be going black!:( Am I going to lose them? We've not had frost or anything. Do I need to move them indoors?

    Help!

Some go blackish before they go red and some go black because that's how they're meant to end up when ripe.

Yours are outdoors, so a bit slow perhaps, but not really much less protected than mine when it comes to low temps. I've not moved mine inside yet, nor will I until we get the first sniff of frost in the air.

I've cut about half of mine though, to let the rest get more nutrients, or whatever. They can be can ripened indoors once they are starting to turn, or of course they can be consumed green, but they're not so good then IMO. :)

Even when it's warm, there's always an extremity which is cold. Usually feet, hands or bum. :D
I think either placing the affected extremity around a warm object or vigorous rubbing are the solutions you are looking for.
    I think....

So pleased for you about the new place - it sounds perfect for you.

We were supposed to get new fridge freezer, gas hob and gas double oven put in kitchen last week. All the appliances arrived on Wednesday and gasman arrived Thursday.

Simple? No!!!!!! Gasman regarded equipment as if it were something from Nasa- looked scared at idea of fitting things in fitted kitchen and dubious whether oven would fit - very resentful he had been told it was just a "cooker" that he had to replace - then tried to quote double the agreed installation fee.

After gasman left without actually doing anything (other than raising our blood pressure and stress levels) we spent the rest of the day phoning and complaining vociferously. Eventually got agreement as it was their mistake they would fit appliances for agreed price - send a different fitter ( who would not blanch at the idea of doing anything even remotely complicated) and this would happen between 8a.m and 12 today.

So far not a phone call or knock at the door!!!! Two huge boxes in hall and fridge freezer blocking utility space - Oh Joy!!!

Don't know if I will have cooking facilities tonight unless I use the microwave or Remoska and dds not amused by having to dodge boxes and play "hunt the old fridge".

I am hiding upstairs with laptop and cup of coffee and letting DH handle it.

    Best tasting coffee IMO.

and cheap enough to invest in a grinder and beans: which is always better still.

well, operations save chez rates is underway....my structural engineer is beetling over to my house as we speak to evaluate the movement and come up with the best propping design and placement. I said I was going to finish emptying the cupboards (just bottom shelf to go)and he said not too...the tins of tomatoes could be holding the house up!

Completely agree SSSS555555SSSSS55555 (I lose track of where to stop, a bit like trying to spell banananananana;)).

    My criteria:

    Are they a nice person?
Would they treat me & themselves with respect?

f they fulfil those, & have a pulse, they're in with a chance...

You also don't want too many critera to rule out people.

    Mine is...

    Do they like children?
Are they happy not to have more children (as I can't have anymore)
    Are they a nice person.

Although that criteria does not always work, my one and only relationship since me and now ex split was with someone who fitted all the above but the reality was that although he was a nice person, he also thought woman and especially mums, were brain dead who could only talk about hand bags and shoes and were in some way inferior in intellect to a male.

It didn't last......especially when he bought me a hand bag for my birthday accompanied by the words "I know how crazy you woman go for handbags". Oh and that I should move to London as they don't do international business anywhere else in the country (and this is to someone who has dealt internationally since she was 17...all from the little back water which is this town, which also happens to be one of the largest ports in Europe)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

We had a good crowd at the party, some of James' friends caused a stir when they walked in as they were dressed very goth like.....my niece was so scared of them she ran away and hid!

But, they soon proved to everyone that you cannot judge a book by its cover, they danced all night, they helped teach my nephew some breakdancing/free running moves and when my brother took his top off (groans of embarrassment from his wife and sister at this), they all took their tops off too so he wasn't the odd one out!

They made the night, it was like our very own cabaret as they also belong to free running/parkour groups and by the end of the night, even my ex mother in law thought them to be great and was asking when she could see them do their stuff properly at exhibition.

My parents on the other hand, did not bat an eyelid when they walked in, they got used to seeing the weird and wonderful when I was a teen....I used to be walked home by all the male goths, punks and bikers to make sure I was safe and then would spend 2 hours talking to my dad about music.

Have any of the nice people been to the Maldives?

    No

But i have been to other destinations in the same part of the World (Mauritius, Seychelles) and know a few people well who have been to the Maldives.

With so many small islands i expect they will be slightly different but in general the staff will be good and respectful, the hotels clean but basic (mostly no TV, internet or even hot water)

The beaches will be fantastic, mainly quite narrow with nice light sand and clear blue water and the snorkeling will be fun and suitable for beginners.

Some people think it's good for a week as there's not much going on but others like to sit in a quiet place and relax.

Trip advisor is the best place to find things out.

Unfortunately not, if I had, it would probably have ended up with lop sided and very eek boobs!

It was the owner of the venue who did it, took him 3 whole days but by god what a brilliant result.
