    ....

such lovely gentle bees too.:( Next year I think we'll strt with a local swarm and hope they are nasty, so that they ar rougher with the wasps.

Yes thanks, over £40 in 5 days. :D

So sorry to hear about your bees. :( I have pleasant memories of being shown them.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

So you get there first. But it's my youngest that hits 18, so I won't have any "children". Now when do young adults leave the bank of Mum & Dad?

On my brother's 18th birthday, we all (my parents, brotehr, sisters and me) went out for dinner, and my Dad talked about retiring now that his financial and family responsibilities were at an end.....

Hopefully later than age 41....I'm still using it although mum is thinking of introducing interest rates :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Another sunny day!

So loving my pruned conifers I want to cut a bit more off them. The gardener seems to have cut the trunks and left the upwardly pointing branches below them. So the branches finish higher than the trunk. Now that they are within reach, I'm tempted to cut these branches down to the level of the trunk. OH says I should leave alone.

I agree with oh....because otherwise you risk seeing ugly brown tops of tree, especially when its windy or snowy or very wet and the branches are weighed down.

Just wanted to post a quick update on the Megaflow. Plumber came twice. Lovely guy, to the minute punctuality which was a bit of a surprise. It cost about £160 to get fixed, parts and labour and is now fine. Had a good look at the system and checked the parts. Said the next thing I'll need is my elements removed and descaled or replaced, at the same time the tank descaled, a bigger job in time terms but smaller in parts terms. Although system is 15+ years old he said the tank won't ever need replacing unless it cracks, just the odd valve here and there. In terms of futureproofing, he said I could consider adding a water softener when it is descaled, but it may not be worth it.

Because I had rubber underlay, the water didn't really go through to the floorboards though they did get damp, and the metal carpet gripper stopped it really going into the lounge (it did a bit when it went the second time and the carpet was a bit smelly, but drying out now).

Have costed up underlay and will get a carpet offcut for hallway until we replace all carpet next year, so this will give us a chance to try out the underlay, which we've found for a bargain price thanks to the DIY board.

Hopefully this will assuage michaels's fears about having one installed.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
  • My poor darling best mate, with whom I went to Devon in August, has had the week from hell. She's had her third missed miscarriage in a row (where the baby dies inside the mother, but doesn't miscarry by itself), her third operation for that, and her mother's died.

That sounds reasonable and it's reassuring you've not got big costs in the near future.

Hands up all the strictly fans :j:T

Last night was better than Friday and i'm really pleased Kristina Rihanoff has a good partner in Jason Donovan. I think they will walk it.

    She's my favourite!!! :A
