You can now get milk that is filtered and fresh, guaranteed to last 7 days from opening. Cravendale do it and Tesco under their "Pure" brand.

Disaster with food last night, soup and first course off :(

I had hoped that having food in the fridge that was off from midnight to 9am (before I transferred stuff to spare fridge) wouldn't have done much harm. After all the food was cool, the fridge shut, so how much could the temperature have risen? Soup tasted bitter and starter meat that was 2 days old, I wasn't sure about. So dumped soup course (weather too hot anyway) and created a starter from bits and bobs around.

Too much to hope that Samsung will accept liability for lost food?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Total value of food in my fridge now is under £2.

Weekend Competition: Whose fridge, right now, contains the highest value of food? .. go on, add it up ....

Waits for someone to claim they bought it all on some Tesco promise and have a negative total!

    Are we including alcohol?

Cross-country was the only thing I was any good at. I used to watch the 'big boys' racing away at the start, but a few miles later they'd be all steamed up and burned out. I could then make rude comments and get away, knowing they'd no hope of pursuit. :rotfl:

Then, suddenly, I was a teenager proper, learned to use the OS map and found a way of beating the system. There was an empty house where we'd hole up for a while, smoke few fags and then quietly slip into the lane near the school. A quick sprint to look suitably hot = job done! :)

By the time of my last inter-house race - I'd guess I was 16 - I'd become unfit, or probably more like unwilling. I remember a couple of us realised we weren't going to break any records, so we went into a call box and 'phoned the school to find out how far back we were, but the secretary wouldn't say. I think I finished about 46th. :o

I got into the school cross country team for the same reason, others would go tearing off and I, because of my ankles liking to twist if I sprinted, would go off at a more measured pace. 2 miles down the road they would be huffing and puffing at the side of the road and I would jog serenely pass with barely a sweat on.

In my later years of high school, we would walk the course natttering about fashion and boys, popping into the shop and generally not really exerting ourselves.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Freezer is a different matter entirely..........

One thing I remember about sports at school was dreading the bomb scares. It used to worry me witless what we'd do if we were in the showers when the bell rang and we'd have to traipse outside due to another bomb scare. It never happened though :)

I'd forgotten about the bomb scares. They would inevitably happen when the 5th form had sports. This meant that we would have to evacuate double maths.

Probably about £20 worth. Most expensive items are a punnet of strawberries and a lump of Italian cheese that I can't spell the name of. By far the cheapest would be a 16p 1.5 litre bottle of value sparkling water from Tesco that I mix with cheap fruit juice.
